Do you happen to have a picture of this?
Is it one you could post on here?

Most people in the general public don't recognize him. I met him at a traffic light, walking along Boylston Street in Boston on the Saturday morning between Fenway shows in 2004. We'd come from opposite directions and were both crossing the street into the Boston Public Gardens. I asked him just how cool it was for a baseball fan to play Fenway Park. He was still amped up like a kid on Christmas morning, saying what a great experience it was. The light changed and I actually went the other way for about a block before cutting back over to the Gardens to sit and read my book (the original plan). No one bothered him or seemed to recognize him....

Great story Jen. Thats how I would like to meet him. Not at a show, or Margaritaville, just randomly bump into him in public, exchange a few words for a minute, and be on our seperate ways. Although I have no idea what I would say...SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Most people in the general public don't recognize him. As Tom said, last Feb we were at Margaritaville in Orlando the day after his show! We had lunch and were just sitting around chatting when we saw Charleston inside. Few minutes later Jimmy showed up and did a broadcast for Radio Margaritaville! Afterwards he stayed around to sign autographs, and I got to say hello, and tell him what a good show the night before was. Also told him our group was with Buffettnews, which he replied,"Oh, I need to go on there and see where I am suppose to be next".![]()
You mean this day??![]()

And I had my BN nametag in my purse!
Yup! That would be the day!![]()
The only thing i had for him to sign was my Buffett News cell phone list from the tailgate the day before but he got a good laugh about that!

You HAD hit the road to Tallahassee for some strange reason.
Someday I will...too!
He autographed my Pirate Looks At Fifty book at the Dallas show in 1998 and Charleston came out on the stage and handed it to me during Gypsies in the Palace.
I was in the pit at the Woodlands show in 1995 and he threw his pick out and I got it. What a fun show!!
He high-fived my friend standing at the end of the row in Denver as he ran from the lawn up to the stage.
so close...so close!

Not to get too off-topic here, as I know this isn't a U2 Fan site, BUT, I have two girlfriends from college that hung out at the hotel on campus where U2 had played one night. They stood back off to the side from the crowd and eventually, Bono and Edge came up to them and asked if they knew of somewhere quiet to go on campus. My friends jokingly said, "Our apartment is quiet", to which Bono replied, "OK, let's go." So, the four of them hung out for a couple hours that night in their apartment just shooting the breeze. Funny enough, one of the girls' mother was visiting that weekend and came out of the bedroom in nightgown and slippers and said, completely unaware of who they were, "Oh my goodness, I had no idea you girls had male guests over. I'll leave you alone." Well, Bono, of course invited her to join them and all five of them had a great time sitting on the living room floor eating popcorn, drinking pop and creating, for my girlfriends, a once in a lifetime memory.UpstateNYPH wrote: Great story Jen. Anyway, to make a long story short, that'd be a cool way to get to know Jimmy.
