Longin for Floridays wrote:Lets be honest though....if Jimmy just released all the dates at once, there would be no drama or excitement. Yeah, we all itch to know about when we get to party, but at least it gives us something to talk about!
So, he's releasing the dates in dribs and draps to purposely keep us on the edge of our seats? He's doing a great job if so

Amen on that! The most fun I've had at a tailgate were at Merriweather! I think the odds of that are really very slim, if none at all, however

Let's not get greedy, we don't even have one date in the area yet!

absolutely! let's just a get a concert somewhere in VA and that's all we need!
did anyone ever see him play at Kings Dominion or in Va Beach? There was a show at JMU a LONG time ago when he played with Kenny Loggins. Did anyone see him there or some place else?

Praying for a date ANYWHERE in VA at this point!!
Would have loved to see him play at those places, but unfortunately that was before my conversion.

I know, me too. But I do remember hearing about KD-- I was living in Richmond at the time too. Bums me out to think I was RIGHT THERE and missed some classic moments. They used to have concerts there a LOT.

The first time I ever saw him live was the summer of '78 at King's Dominion. My college ID and 6 bucks got me access to the park, all rides plus the show. I didn't save the ticket unfortunately. I also saw him play in Williamsburg at the College of William and Mary a couple of times.
I never saw him at the Virginia Beach Pavilion. Most of my shows in this "area" over the years have been at Merriweather Post Pavilion (hands down my favorite location) and at the Nissan Pavilion.

Merriweather was a great place. We had the most fun there despite the best efforts by local law enforcement to make it more of a Wayne Newton tailgate

Notice that since I asked about the month, we've heard nothing from our two folks with the "sources."
Hitting the refresh button and checking this website every 5 minutes is becoming painful and I don't think I'm alone.
WE JUST WANT A DATE!!! Now there's a rumor about Detroit. Before you know it, Boise will get a show before us!!!

" I am sticking with my original prediction of Labor Day weekend. Two dates. Saturday and Monday. I don't think June 28th is even on the radar for Buffett at Nissan. That has to be a mistake using last year's date.
I hope Nissan and/or Buffett release these dates soon. I am ready to move on to other Summer plans. "
I posted the above message on March 6th at 9:00am. What else do you need to know? I think next year when I get inside information, I will keep it to myself like I have for the past few years.
I have lurked on this site for years and never posted, and now I know why.

If people get this stressed out worrying about concert dates I'd hate to see how they handle real adversity. Lighten up.

All I was trying to do was let people know when the shows were without getting myself into trouble that could come with revealing the information I have.
If you don't want to know when the shows are don't ask. When they are announced Flowergirl and I will be proven right.
And no I do not know when they are going to announce but If I was to guess it will not be until after Tim McGraw goes on sale tomorrow. Nissan likes to let each show have its day.

I'm just trying to schedule summer plans. Kids' summer camps (girl scouts, cub scouts, basketball), renting a beach house in Sandbridge for a week, planning a trip to California as well ....... all of these things need to be done now unfortunately, and without a concert date, I take a chance of missing the show. Not the end of the world, but if I had a concert date, I could finalize all my summer plans and schedule all these things on dates that would have me in town when the concert happens.
We're spoiled here in the DC metro area. Jimmy's not missed a stop here in about 3 decades, and I've been to almost all of those shows, even multiple shows in years when he performed in this area 4 or 5 times each summer.

Amen. When it is all said and done, it is just a concert folks. (says the guy who hasn't missed a year since 2002 but if the rumors prove true will miss this year)

Well, I agree getting stressed about a date may be a bit over the top.
But, I have a feeling not all BN'ers here think "it is just a concert". It certainly isn't to me.

I think it's just that we're all used to having a firm date by now. As for handling stress and adversity, I invite you to scroll through some of the earlier posts on this string, although I think the majority of them were in jest, at least mine was. My apologies if anyone was offended...

I went to the Va Beach shows....but they will never happen again. VA Beach is not a tailgate friendly facility.

LIPH, you are absolutely right. Let's all take a deep breath and calm down.
As a side note, LIPH, you are awfully adorable. You wouldn't happen to be single would you?

No, No, inside information is GOOD and we need it. You know how it is now a days, everyone wants More, More, More!
On another note, when did Buffett play at JMU? I don't ever remember that.
