Er, since some people still confuse vinyl records/albums with CD records/albums the first vinyl album I bought was Somewhere Over China the day it was released.

The first CD record I bought was Floridays - the day it was released. I also bought the vinyl record of Floridays - the day it was released.

The last vinyl record - Off To See The Lizard.

Most played vinyl record in my household growing up? 1979s You Had To Be There.

Most played CD record in my various households later on? 1979s You Had To Be There.

You Had To Be There is the number one most listened to JB album of my (and my dad's) JB collection. After that it ranked, somwhat like this, A1A, CILCIA, SOASOAS, SOC, HD, Floridays, Hot Water, Volcano... and it was like that for quite a while.

It's changed considerably since then, the late 1980s, but only because some have moved around due to newer records.

The first one I owned (don't know if I got it as a gift or bought it myself) was Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads.

My dad listened to Jimmy Buffett growing up and I liked Jimmy, and the box set was just released, so I went ahead and just bought that instead of buying reprints of the stuff my dad already had.

Cullowhee Rocks !!!!!

The first Jimmy CD I bought was "Far Side of the World". I didn't listen to Jimmy much during the late 80's and early 90's and just happened to walk into Sams club one day and saw it in the rack and decided to buy it. I listened to it over and over for weeks in the car and haven't stopped listening to him since.

I am sure "You Had To Be There" was on vinyl when I bought my copy on the two cassette version, which is now owned on CD.

You Had To Be There was originally released on vinyl because it was 1978. What did I say, 1979? That was wrong.

Hey, Boats Beaches Bars And Ballads doesn't count as a Buffett album. What was the first album you bought? is the question.

Please stop being so picky! If that is the first thing Buffett that a person bought, whether it be vinal or CD, it certainly does count as a first album.

Weren't 8 Tracks awful, but the 70's were fun! You could get tickets to see Jimmy pretty easy back then too.

What was the first JB album that you bought?

I bought my first 3 JB albums in one day. Last Labor Day weekend I bought Meet Me In Margaritaville, A1A, and Take The Weather With You. My JB collection has grown by leaps and bounds since then.

I also, ahem, "liberated" my Brother's copy of SYKBH on cassette, then his copy of the box set. Wore that tape out, the bought it for myself. The moved up to the "Don't Stop the Carnival" Soundtrack and "Riddles in the Sand", Married my wife and she came with the rest!
