Westland-Hallmark Beef recalled
Beef from this slaughterhouse is being recalled because of the cattle has not been given proper inspection and in some cases the vet wasn't called when the cattle got sick so the FDA is getting a mandatory recall. 143 million pounds of it. This is reported by ABC News tonight.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

AND for school lunch programs too.docandjeanie wrote:Yes, the video was awful. The story says they supply beef to all of the fast food restaurants, so be careful.
Great, we ate at Arby's yesterday![]()
We couldn't get in our local diner, so we choose that because fast and easy.

speaking as one who worked production food..
after a while, you forget that what you produce is what people eat..
it gets to be the stuff you handle to get the paycheck at the
end of the week..
not at all saying that it's the right attitude.. just that you.. well you
forget after a while..
AND it happens with Fruit,Veggies,Milk,Beer,Meat,Seafood...
you name it.. it happens..

Just another good reason I eat venison that I have dressed & butchered myself. I occasionally eat beef (nothing like a good ribeye) but try to keep it to a minimum. I also grow and freeze most of my own veggies. I know this is not an option for most people but for me it works great.
I also agree that this is not isolated to beef. Corporate farming and mass production of food is something we the consumers do not want to know all the details, or we wouldn't eat any of it. The abuse of livestock and the miss-handling of produce would turn your stomach. Like RagtopW said, it is a widget to food production workers, a product, nothing more, nothing less.
