My family lived in four foreign lands and five states before I was born...
then they stayed put for the duration! (I'm not well-travelled)
Our governor attended my high school, same class.

The older I get, the more famous other people become!

Must be why I haven't been felt in so long.

Hmmm...what to say.
I have seen things you people won't believe.
I've gone bungee-jumping and jumped out of an airplane (static line jump @3500 ft) and I have the videos to prove it.
I went to lots of concerts in my youth and had over 100 black concert t-shirts. I have kept all my ticket stubs.
I went to an engineering school and helped found a fraternity. Therefore, it was only logical that we construct a beer bong that was 3 stories tall. I was the first one to attempt 4 beers. I was unsuccessful.
I quote movies alot (see my first item above).
I have experience the sadness of losing 2 friends to suicide and 2 grandparents to cancer in a 5 year span.
But, I have had the joy of witnessing the birth of my three kids.
My spelling is horrible and I love this emoticon:
Maybe I can think up more interesting things later.

Nice to see I'm not the only anal retentive freak here.

It's the only way I can remember what shows I've been to and they take up less space then a t-shirt. I've started to write little notes on the back of the ticket stub to help me remember what happened at the show provided I *can* remember.

I have a binder with my concert ticket stubs and some other stuff too. I use baseball card sheets for the tix.
But... did you keep track of opening acts? Out of +/- 150 shows, I'm only missing 2 or 3 openers on my list. I'd say that makes me an "anal retentive freak."

I still have the ticket stub from my second row seat at the Beatles concert in DC.

Now THAT is a good idea. I just have them rubber-banded together in my desk drawer. I see a trip to a hobby shop in my future.

Yeah, I'd say you win that contest. I don't remember many of the opening acts. I know you are in MD now, but did you grow up there? If so, did you go to venues like the Caps Center and Merriweather PP for your concerts? If so, we may have been at the same shows. Maybe I can help you out with your 2 or 3 missing openning acts.
PS I miss the cheeseburger hat.

I thought of a few more:
I've never had a speeding (or any other kind of) ticket.
I am a Trekkie.
I quote movies like Hockey Mon (all the time).
I still have ALL my body parts (tonsils, etc.) and have never broken a bone.
My grandfather's grandfather was the Duke of Wellington (seriously) but he was only 10 or 11 years old. Evidently they gave children the title for some reason (nefarious, no doubt).
I need to lose 40 pounds.

I have 2 charts on my computer at home, one for Buffett concerts and one for non-Buffett concerts. They're in chronolgical order, with the performer, date, venue, city and number of times I've seen the performer. Then another chart for how many times I've been to each city and each venue, with the years in parentheses. Yes, I have a problem.

Wow. Well, admitting you have a problem is the first step.

That pic was so old. It was already old when I first posted it. Probably from 10 years ago in the Orlando Margaritaville store. Didn't buy it, just used it for a photo.
I've been in Silver Spring all my life. My "self selected" shows started with Metallica in '94 at Merriweather. For lack of anything better to do with my time, I have a list of every band I've seen since then (minus the couple of missing openers) on my myspace page (
www.myspace.com/funkhouse9). Nearly all of the ones I've been to were in the greater DC area. I'm sure we were probably at some of the same shows.
The openers I'm missing are for Deana Carter at the Birchmere in/around 2001, Jonathan Edwards at the Birchmere in '02(?), David Allan Coe at the State Theater around '02(?). I'll probably contact the Birch & ST sometime to see if they can tell me.
I saw several others that my parents took me to as a kid, Kenny Rogers, Crystal Gayle, etc. According to my mom, Dolly Parton brought me up on stage as a small shild. That is how I believe I developed my fondness for.... nevermind.

In addition to ticket stubs, I also collect guitar pics from concerts and pics with celebrities.
I am a very very very distant cousin a couple times removed to June Carter, which, by marriage, makes me related to Johnny Cash.
I bite my nails like it's going out of style and get extremely agitated if someone tells me to stop.

Who's you're favorite/the nicest celeb you've met?
Posted: February 27, 2008 1:43 pm
by LIPH
Heather Dee Perry, one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.
Second, I'd say a toss up between Brooke Shields and Chelsea Cooley (Miss USA 2005). Brooke was very friendly and Chelsea, besides being smokin' hot, was really funny.

HFStival '96 - That's where I recognize you from! You were that guy on the lawn, right?
Can't help you with the missing opening acts.
