In seeing the DVD and the flood of emotions surfacing with each frame, I just want to re-iterate my thanks to all of you for partying with such a generous purpose. With pholks revisiting this thread now in "mailboat season" it seems like a good time to attempt to express again how grateful we truly are for phriends like parrotheads. There's nobody like 'em in the whole world!
Angel Beech wrote:WOW what a day!!! What a party! What a show! What a bunch of wonderful Phriends!!! I wish the day could have lasted forever. I didn’t get to spend enough time with pholks, and there are too many pholks I didn’t get to meet or hug. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally, but I hope you feel our gratitude like we feel the support and good vibes coming through BN. I couldn’t do this in front of everyone without losing it (which is pretty much what happened when I saw Renee). I have SO many pholks to thank, I can only attempt to scratch the surface.
Thank you Bill, for ALL you do ALL the time, your tireless efforts, your devotion to the cause, and for saving the day. You will always be THE KING OF ALL TAILGATES. As if it’s not enough to throw the grandest party any of us have ever seen, you turned it into the most amazing fund raising effort I have ever known. And thank you Debbie for sharing Bill with us, for giving of your family time while Bill is twirling plates for parrotheads. And to your co-conspirators Danny and Lori - The Pharms : Thank you for all you do and bring to the party, it is a joy seeing your smiling faces each year.
Thank you Terry, for (among other things) going all out on the silent auction, pulling strings and calling in favors, and making sure I got to see Jimmy this year from a phabulous vantage point. I’d go to the Far Side of the World with you, G/F! You do too much yet you think you don’t do enough. For being the phriend that you are, I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK.
Thank you Tyler for all the love, for making sure I know you are just a phone call away, and especially for coming to Texas and making it a great day for your Mom. It truly would not have been the same without you.
I am eternally grateful for the empathy and understanding from those of you who have been down this treacherous road, and live as an example to others that one can get through the worst of times and still smile...dammit: Albert, Lynn & Bill, Christine, and Alison, to name a few. Shoeless Kevin - thank you for the offer to play a benefit anytime anywhere for the cause.
Thank you Al for making nametags for everyone, as you do every year. But most of all THANK YOU for giving me strength with the best hug in the world. When you gave me that last hug, telling me to “be strong” - the energy from your big strong self will stay with me, and I will be strong. I have all of my parrothead phriends sharing the load.
Renee, thank you for flying to Texas for a liquid lunch and surprising me. I was just kidding you about doing that, and you certainly surprised me! You too, Zero! Thank you for the surprise, for coming back to Texas, and for just being there.
Auntie, my pal - I didn't know for sure you were coming, but I hoped against hope. I am SO glad you made it to Frisco. I'd throw away a plane ticket and drive across the country and through the middle of nowhere with you anytime. And you know I'll do it!
Thank you to Jen and many others of you who let me know how much we are loved, and are in many thoughts and prayers even when you’re not posting it. We feel it, and we are blessed to have phriends like you at times like this.
Huge thanks to Rayro, Jan, and others with the enthusiastic water sales (sorry I don’t have all the names). You stopped at nothing to get a person to part with some cash, and you are terrific champions for the cause!
Speaking of which - Janice and Renee? Y’all are some NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY girls!!! I’m not sure what lengths you went to in raising hundreds of dollars from Naughty Lessons alone, but I suspect there will be pics somewhere on the internet. Thank you for your efforts!
Tracy and Michael, I couldn’t have done it without you on the loading/unloading/construction crew. Thanks also to my wonderful daughter-in-law Faith who is SO preggers she risked having a baby at Buffett (and me naming him Bubba) to bring my grandkeets to the event and watch after them. (Al made the baby a nametag just in case)
And JohnMc - It takes a brave man to walk up to a U-Haul and ask to lend a hand. You never know what might have been in store for you. My thanks to you and Michael.
To the cooks, bartenders, set-up and tear-down crews and all who labored so everyone could have great time, THANK YOU! We appreciate all you do!!
Kandy, I hardly got to visit with you Saturday, but greeting me with a mojito in hand is typical of your knack for being there at the right time with the right thing. Just like the time you sent me a text asking how I was doing, like shining a light when I was in a dark well. When I needed it most, there you were there, turning tears into smiles. Thank you for being there and being YOU!
Nancy and JelloShotGirl, I’m sorry you couldn’t make it. We missed you and had you in our thoughts. I hope things get better for you both soon. Shannon and Alphabits were also missed. Some other pholks should have been there but weren’t - I missed you and expect you to be there next year!
Pirate Nurse and Sharkdog, thank you for challenging pholks to give more and keep giving, I am amazed at your extraordinary effort to keep the fund raising at the forefront of the festivities. Last but not at all least:
To all of you spending $2 and more for a bottle of water after everything else you have done, and to everyone who bid on the auction items, whether you were the top bidder or not, THANK YOU! Every cent is GREATLY APPRECIATED and needed.
Emotional support is more than enough, but what you pholks have done with this fund raising effort is over the top - the most kind and generous acts I have ever seen or heard of. Y’all are providing tremendous resources for us while we learn to navigate these troubled waters. I know we couldn’t do it without you, and we can never thank you enough!
I have never been more proud to be a parrothead, and even more so a BN’er. I THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart.

Plowin’ straight ahead, come what may,

~Becky

There are no words to express the gratitude I feel for what you are doing for us. THANK YOU doesn’t seem to be enough, but I do thank each and every one of you. Your support is a source of strength for my spirit and for my battle. Thank you for the autographed poster. I wish I could have been there Saturday to personally express my gratitude for everything you have done. Thank you for being there for both of us. God bless you all.

Rolling with the punches and living it day to day,

~Dana
p.s. I'm sorry I have not been able to spend a lot of time here lately, things have kind of snowballed since FFF2. I miss y'all and love you all dearly!!

Hey, once the CD is put in the player....the music still sounds the same! I'm just glad someone is doing this!
I don't have one either, but thought about renting one for the weekend... uhhhh, I mean buying one. Dave did a great job with the music and the skin.
I know Dez said it's all about the music, and I totally agree, or I wouldn't be here. But there IS something to be said about the ahhhhhhh... the ahhhhhhh... skin! 8) 8)
Well, GBM, if you want to send me a skin, then I can have the ahhhh...ahhhhh! Wait, that sort of sounded nasty, didn't it??? [smilie=blush.gif]

I just watched this DVD again and I really want to send out massive kudos to Dirtracer49 for his creativeness and excellent photo placement with the words of the songs. Some of them are simply priceless.
I've watched this thing about 4 times now, and each time I've noticed something different.

Most of all, today I'm noticing how much I miss everyone, how many folks I didn't have time to chat with, and what a incredibly huge accomplishment pulling off an event like this is.
I'd like to belabor the point, but there are so many unspoken/behind the scenes hero's (that I'm aware of), it would be impossible to list them all.
I'd just like to say that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Image

I'm thankful to be a part of this wonderful group.

Dirtracer49, you did a Phantastic job on the DVD presentation!!! It really is great music, timing, pictures and so many wonderful memories wrapped up in a neat package. The timing on Larry's appearance is perfect!!! The CDs are also superb!!! I haven't been able to get the song "We're Still Here" yet and now I have it to replay over and over again! Thanks a whole bunch for doing this!
