PARROTHEAD SIGHTING!!!

Looks like Parrotheads are beginning to invade the area!

During my lunch hour today, I spotted a large fin attached to the top of a blazer driving through downtown Lake Geneva. "Alpine or Bust" written on the back windshield. It was a lovely sight to behold. God, am I psyched for this weekend! :D

What's the deal with the LAWN SECTION?
Does everyone stand, bring chairs, sit on the ground???? What to expect?
Is it one big standing party?
How come I'm always runnin' into burning buildings when everyone else is runnin' out? Zat make me a Fruitcake?

Hey JollyMon - bring a lawn blanket to stake out your spot, but no chairs. its on a big old grassy hill. (the ones with a tarp on one side, flannel on the other are really nice!)
Expect the blanket to get trampled upon.

I have heard people say not to wear flip flops, becuase the thong between your toes gets sore. I figure, I'll be feeling NO PAIN by that point.

Mostly its one big standing party. No beverages or food or cameras in the concert, so leave that at your car.

What I've typically seen is people laying and sitting on blankets until showtime, then most standing / dancing for the entire concert. And you seem to end up shoulder to shoulder, front to back touching people. (which is why I'll be in a seat or the parking lot!)

There are idjits, mostly young, who don't enter until the show starts, but proceed to cram themselves into nicely staked plats toward the front.

I don't know how big your group is, but I recommend buddying up on bathroom or beverage runs, because chances are you'll never find the group again, until the parking lot. We've lost someone every year!

Dance...... There is really no room for chairs or blankets. I see people with blankets though and allot of times you end up farther down the hill than your blanket as the crowd moves unless you are on the far sides.. hill is steep for chairs...

Plus it slows the rate of people getting in since they have to check every blanket..

Sounds cool. I can put up with the crowds...as long as they are Buffett fans!

Who has the latest weather report for the venue???

I had reserved seats once for Buffett.. Honestly I prefer the grass that is where the party is. I feel to restricted in the seats. If I want to dance with a few girls you can not.

Plus the pravilion does leak. Anyone remember the buffett concert a while back where it really poured? Not the year it misted most of the day.

I have seen lots of concert at alpine and some in the rain... Seen Boston when they reunited for the first time and it rained the hole concert. Or Hootie when the hill became a mud pit?

Dave

Was at a very rainy show in Indy a few years back (glad we had covered seats) when they had just laid new sod...which had very obviously been fertilized with liquid manure. [smilie=puker.gif] Boy did that make a smelly mess! Sheets of freshly laid sod rolled down the hill along with very wet and smelly partiers!! Thank goodness for margarita pain killers!!
