ejr is bringing the burgers not me! I don't need to be getting yelled at by strangers for this misunderstanding. My wife yells at me enough as it is.
I think I'll take my shoes off and go walking
Down beside the Caribbean Sea. . .

Palm Trees and views I can't believe

Thanks to John, we are now staying at the lovely Clubhouse Inn not the skank no tell motel (Thanks Again John!!) I am guessing that the wife and I would like to get there around 1. If anyone would like to meet up or wouldn't mind if we tag along that would be great. We are bringing snacks and booze (and my new guitar) but no meal food, so if we could trade booze and or snacks for a burger or two that would be great. Just let me know what the plans are.

God, I can't wait to leave.

I'll make sure to have enough burgers.
You better!!!!!! 8)
Enough to feed you, huh? I'd better buy lots of burgers :D :D

What time are you getting there? There are only a couple of cars meeting on Thursday, and we could swing by the Krispy Kreme on Harlem and meet up with you if that would work.

I think 1:00 should work, and yes, that is the place-I haven't been there before, but it is a complex of about 7 hotels.

I would like to join the group there too. what should I bring?

We're planning to leave the Hampton at 1 and will swing around to the Krispy Kreme. You have my cell #, I think, and I think I have yours somewhere too.

***Maybe we all should just meet there at 1pm and just head down Harlem together--will that work for everyone?????

Are we meeting at the Krispy Kreme or the hotel? Someone make up our minds and tell me where to go and what time to be there.

Blame this one on me. Mjeischen suggested this spot on the Saturday thread and I think it makes sense as we all would just head straight south on Harlem.

Meeting Place and Time---1pm--vacant/former Krispy Kreme lot at about 5640 S. Harlem. West side of the street, apparently about 1/2 block south of Archer

This is another option I think would work better. Do a MapQuest of 79th & Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview, IL. If you then switch to aerial view you will see a huge parking area in the Northeast corner of the picture. The lot is owned by Toyota Park. It is four blocks south of Toyota Park. It would be easier for everyone from the Hampton to get to. I would be willing to drive over to the Hampton then drive back with everyone. I think the best entrance to the park is going to be the 75th Street entrance coming from the south. The longer you can stay off of Harlem the better off you are.

I think those coming up I 55 from the South would be better off exiting at IL 45 (LaGrange Road) and heading south to 79th St.. At 79th you exit East till you reach Harlem ave. I think that route would have less traffic and I believe is a shorter distance. I 55 take you further north than you need to be.

Just an idea. I'm up for whatever the group decides.

Check out the ClubHouse Inn at http://westmont.clubhouseinn.com/reservations.php

We are staying there for $80 a night I think and it looks nice too!

Hope this helps.

I kwow that I am the newer guy here and that I am coming from out of town, but wouldn't meeting SOUTH of the venue casue more of a problem for people coming from the north? I heard that Harlem Ave is quite a busy street, and I would only like to fight the traffic once in the afternoon instead of twice.

But, I am not in charge, so please let me know if I need to once again rip up my already printed out directions to the old Krispy Lot and make new ones for this new lot.
