This is another option I think would work better. Do a MapQuest of 79th & Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview, IL. If you then switch to aerial view you will see a huge parking area in the Northeast corner of the picture. The lot is owned by Toyota Park. It is four blocks south of Toyota Park. It would be easier for everyone from the Hampton to get to. I would be willing to drive over to the Hampton then drive back with everyone. I think the best entrance to the park is going to be the 75th Street entrance coming from the south. The longer you can stay off of Harlem the better off you are.

I think those coming up I 55 from the South would be better off exiting at IL 45 (LaGrange Road) and heading south to 79th St.. At 79th you exit East till you reach Harlem ave. I think that route would have less traffic and I believe is a shorter distance. I 55 take you further north than you need to be.

I kwow that I am the newer guy here and that I am coming from out of town, but wouldn't meeting SOUTH of the venue casue more of a problem for people coming from the north? I heard that Harlem Ave is quite a busy street, and I would only like to fight the traffic once in the afternoon instead of twice.

But, I am not in charge, so please let me know if I need to once again rip up my already printed out directions to the old Krispy Lot and make new ones for this new lot.
candyman and I talked and I think we are sticking with the plan you have already printed out. Indecision may or may not be.......

Randy,
I mapquested your hotel. These are the directions it gave.

It is the same way I mentioned. The problem with I55 is it slants way to the North after Lagrange Road (RT45).

See what you think. I don't want anyone driving further than they have to. Coming from the city is another story. I don't believe anyone is driving from the city but I could be wrong.

As Ejr said I will go where the group wants to go but I don't think it's the best location. I really think this would be a better location for Saturday's meet also.

Hope it's the same view you had last weekend! :D
Thanks Dan, but only if I close my eyes!  I'm in the cheap seats for this one!

I'm guessing I might arrive around the same time as the rest of y'all, so I'll keep an eye out or maybe give a jingle after we get settled. I think my keets are going to want my undivided attention when we first get there, and I'm also hostess to 2 1st-timers. (somehow I can't use the v word when talking about my daughter's teacher, and her 21 year old daughter.) Gonna set up 'camp' and kinda chill for a bit, before we go walkabout. For some reason, I'm nervous about tomorrow. :)

I know all about that. We are leaving in about an hour so the next time I will check the board I will be on Chicago time. See you all tomorrow at the Krispy Lot, for now, I guess. Right? What?

I heard I was in town!

Safe and sound and I only had to yell at my wife a few times along the way. Still planning on the Krispy Lot right?

If anything changes, let me know.

We'll be there! :) Just bought 2 new rolling coolers & a tabletop gas grill! I looked at my charcoal one & just decided, nah, can't do it! Too much work.....Found it on clearance at Sears for $39.95...can't beat that!

Dan- please give me a heads up on the best way to get to Krispy Kreme without going up Harlem?

(I'll take Toyota up on buying the ice from them :) )

Sure seems like Bridgeview and Toyota Park are doing all the can to provide a fun tailgate enviorment.

OK, since gypsygirl seems to be very tardy with the Saturday cellphone list, can someone who is on that list, and coming tomorrow print an extra copy and bring it to me tomorrow? I don't have a printer at home and would like to have a printed copy.

Assuming we all actually get the list!
