Had a great time as well. My first time in Philly and I would definitely return again. Plenty of room to tailgate and great atmosphere as expectedl. I tried to find the BN crew, but to no avail. I was in lot K, but looked for you guys in M, but everyone said they saw the group in N, but no luck there either. Only downpoint for me was that my cellphone died in the downpour, but fortunately it is still under warrantee. My fin blew off my car on the way to the hotel afterwards. Had some great times in the hotel pool (or atleast the hotel pool next to ours) after the concert still partying. BTW, I found a ring on the field (section H). I had these 2 ladies come by looking for it and we looked everywhere. I finally found it in my seat about an hour later and they were gone. If anyone knows these women, PM me with details.

I too have some comments on these subjects but I'll wait till tomorrow when I'm better rested...MammaBear wrote:First..thanks to Mary Kay and her husband for all the prep! it was great meeting every one! Also thanks to all who offered food, drink and sunblock!
To Phins1026 - without your name tags, I would have been lost! I felt very comfortable approaching people to had them and introducing myself!
The parking lot was great, but....hummm...I think I will pass on CBP.
First...we were told we needed to stand in a long line for field wristbands (and did) when they were actually also giving them at the entrance to the fields. **Note to CBP personnel - COMMUNICATE**
When the rain started, we headed to the concourse stage left. We were standing in a handicapped area because the "ushers" would not allow people to sit in the 5 or so rows undercover - even though these seats were not sold. By the time a supervisor arrived, the concert was about to start.
The concourse was so jammed it was impossible to move let alone breath! When the announcement came that the concert was about to start, we decided to stay where we were for a bit. These same "ushers" threatened to call security if we did not move - remember...these areas were empty and not sold. There was a woman about 60 years old who was able to put a chair in the area - she was about to pass out. when her husband came back with a drink for her, he was told in a very very forceful nasty way to move his wife or security would be called. The "ushers" were sarcastic, Unnecessary and ridiculous.
Now, during the delay, there was a very distinct odor in the air. Instead of the "security people" worrying about who was smoking what, they were worried about people trying to stay a bit try standing in an unsold handicapped section.
The "security" people were just as ridiculous.
CBP was ill prepared and unable to handle a concert of that size. It was a much different situation than a sleepy baseball game and should not have been treated the same way. Perhaps all would have been well if the weather had held out, but it did not and the CBP was not able to deal with it......
Sorry for the rant, but I was so angry (and still am). I paid quite a bit for our tickets and do not appreciate the way we (and everyone around us) were treated by people whose only "JOB" was to show people to their seats.
Tomorrow comes the phone call to CBP -

Just got back from my Father's Day out with the boys.
Thanks to BlackJack's Wife and the others for hooking everything up.
It was great to see Tom and Deb again, and to meet alot of other BNer's.
Just want to throw out an apology if either me or number 1 son got a little carried away with ourselves. Not making excuses, but he has been working 2 full-time jobs since January, and got home from work at 6:30 to leave the house 9:30 for IKEA.
Looking forward to hooking up with everyone again next year; hopefully at the Tweeter, it just feels so much more relaxed in Camden. The concourse in CBP was like an overloaded cattle chute during the rainstorm.
Note to self: a $20 canopy is only $50 less than a canopy you might actually be able to use.

We had a great time yesterday! Thanks to everyone who helped to organize the event. It would never have been so wonderful without your hard work. I really enjoyed meeting everyone for the first time and putting faces to names. Would have liked to give away more Scavenger Hunt and Bimini Ring prizes though.
I loved the show too. Since I was driving this time it was a new experience for me to be totally sober at a Buffett show, it was just as great.
Dorky highlight of the night: When Jimmy picked up my beachball of the universe from at his feet and said "hey! this is the universe!" I was like the proud papa, telling everyone around me that Jimmy was holding and talking about my beachball. God I hope that is on the recording of the show. JB held my universe in his hands.
I look forward to seeing some of you again at the AC show. Now I guess I need to start watching that thread as well. Where in BN do you all tend to hang out when we aren't planning for a show?

The fireworks may have been the motivation behind many decissions made Saturday night. IMO the lightning was no safer than ten minutes before they asked everyone to leave the floor. (At another time I will address the issue that produce)And OttoCal you're spot on w/ the Fireworks they were great - awesome reverb on the bombs.......wonder if that was planned or if it was a treat for enduring the rain?
I thought the set was rushed. everybody around us agreed. They are two reasons for this and one or both may be right. The first is by having the concert end as close to 11 as possible it kept them from having to pay scores of workers and sub contractors (security!) which would have started at midnight. Many contracts call for 2 hr minimum. All performers are given a time schedule and if they run over THEY are responsible. Under these circumstance it would be God. Or the Devil (Comcast/Live Nation/Clear Channel) depending on your point of view. The oither factor which I forgot about Saturday night was the fireworks. They must be approved and inspected. You don't just say "Hey it rained let shoot some fireworks off" . Especially a nice display like that!. So again thanks and understandabley to the residents of South Philly they have to conclude shooting them of by a certain time. My guess would be 11:30 on a Saturday night.

Fins w/Phinatic Video
If this works, I also have video of Defying Gravity, which was obviously a last minute change, as evidenced by the partial set list I aquired after the show. Special thanks to the Roadie who really went out of his way for me (I asked for a pick, he didn't think he could throw it to me from the stage, so he went around and scavenged a set list, wrapped the pick in it, then jammed it in a really cool shark coozie and threw it to me).
What is the easiest way to post pics? I want to post pics of the partial set list and guitar pick.

Krystal's propellers were outstanding!!!UpstateNYPH wrote:well that was quite the interesting night.
Jimmy, Utley, and Robert almost fell over laughing so hard at Krystal's propellers.
Best part of the show = during OPH when Jimmy says "But Not Yet", we both made eye contact with each other and pointed to each other and yelled, "BUT NOT YET!!"
So bless me father, yes I have sinned.
Given the chance I'll probably do it again

Just a simple solution will do.

Partial Set List, Guitar Pick, Shark Coozie
Oh hell, I couldn't figure out pics, so I made a video of the booty (no, not that kind of booty, booty like a pirate's treasure booty).baadbobby wrote:If this works, I also have video of Defying Gravity, which was obviously a last minute change, as evidenced by the partial set list I aquired after the show. Thanks to Mary Kay for guiding us the proper tailgate lot by cellphone. Nice to meet both she & her husband as well as Doc & Jeannie, Tropic Al, Mammabear, Ottocal, & Popcorn Jack.
So sorry we had to make a rather quick, unannounced departure mid-afternoon from the lot, but the heat & humidity really took their toll on my wife. We decided to head to McFadden's restaurant for the A/C, cold drinks, & a bite to eat rather than stay at the car. Luckily getting her into the cool helped a lot and we enjoyed the rest of the day at CBP.
We had field seats in Section B, Row 9. Waited out the storm and got to our seats just as JB was singing WDWGDAS. Great show and I stand corrected on my criticism of his covers & setlists. The crowd around us really got into singing during BEG, Glory Days, & Rainy Day Women......
I guess JB really does know what his concertgoers enjoy so I guess I just need to go with flow and sing along, too......
See you again at Nissan on Saturday night!!!!!!
Yes, our "retreat" to the AC was needed. My wife was looking a bit beat by the heat. After being married 33 years I've seen "that" look before and didn't want a repeat!!! Your flipflop cake did look good!

We had a great time, thanks to everyone for their work organizing this. Here are some random thoughts:
1. VIP Pre Paid parking lot was pretty poor. A dirty warehouse next to the highway and too far from everything including the Holiday Inn.
2. Blackjack’s Ribs…need I say more.
3. We had lousy seats but knew that going in…my sympathy to the folk 50 rows back on the floor…I would have gotten claustrophobia
4. Great fireworks.
5. The girls liked my tequila squirt gun more than the men…way to go ladies
6. Don’t eat a Bubba Burger with sweet onion after the show…Purple pill please!
7. Could not get into the lot with out the pass…had to roll our stuff to our party and park elsewhere. Tried everything including slipping a hundi to the manager to no avail. I think it’s all about timing.
8. Clemson…you left your parrot with us…he’s safe and happy and will make an appearance at Great Wood…
9. Props to Clemson for knowing the words to the Rodeo Song!
10. Three cheers for NJ's cheap gas!

well i am back to work and still recouping some sleep but all and all I had a really great time. thank you to everyone for being so welcoming for someone that just located you all a couple days prior to the venue. i will always stand by words that you can always meet the greatest and fun people thru boards. I feel like im no longer a buffett virgin. But i dont think CBP will be in my future. I will be at another one but not there. Heres hoping next year he will get closer to NY
the rain put a damper on things for all of 15 minutes. So glad i bought ponchos that morning. we had a 4 hour drive home that night and was really not a fun trip, next time keep your original plan and stay overnight but me i wanted to get a head start on the total of 6 hours road time.
