I liked the Spy vs. Spy and the "Mad fold-in" on the last page of the magazine.
Somewhere in my parent's attic is the cut-out record of Alfred E. Neuman doing "It's A Gas." If you remember THAT one, you're old.

I completely grew up on MAD

It's helped make me the well-adjusted, culturally-rounded person that I am today! :o

As a person who draws for my living,
I completely idolized all their great artists of the '70's:
Don Martin
Mort Drucker
Angelo Torres
Jack Davis
Dave Berg
Al Jaffe
Sergio Aragones
Paul Coker Jr.

..I'm actually kinda surprised those names just rolled off without haven even opened
a MAD magazine in some years
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!

Of course! I still have most of my MAD Mags stored away in a box in the basement for when my 8 year son (and 11 year old daughter) might be interested in reading them!
Last year I mocked up a cover featuring my son as Alfred E. "Robby" Neuman (What, Me Worry?) on the cover to submit for a contest/promotion of SURFER Magazine. It didn't win. Nor did the mockup cover I did for my daughter. But the one I created for my golden retriever won a $500 gift package ... go figure. :D

They had a bunch of Christmas carols that they parodied
I still remember most of them.
I wasn't really allowed to buy them myself but some of my male "cousins"(Sons of good family friends) had them and introduced me to it at a young age.

MAD was the best. I was just talking about it last week. And don't forget the lesser imitators...Crazy, Cracked, etc.

$1.50 Cheap!

My favorite section of MAD was always "Snappy answers to Stupid Questions." How true some of the questions were.

Throughout most of the '60s I was totally MAD. Probably explains my somewhat warped sense of "humor".

It's been a while, but yes, I had a collection when I was a kid.
I work with a fanatic who has a huge collection of MAD stuff. Big business on E-Bay.

The "Oddfather" was a classic.

Loved the TV and Movie parodies.
