Confused, can someone help me out?

Post by FFLooksAt40 »

I was wondering if anyone could help me out by telling me if Live Nation or the dreaded "Ticketbaster" is selling the tickets this year for Jimmy's shows? I am most interested in the Alpine show. I never bought directly from Live Nation and for that fact don't know how to if that would be the case. I know some PH out there knows the answers. Thanks

His shows are split between ticketmaster, live nation, and in Philadelphia's case Comcast Tix. It all depends where the show is. Good Luck!

I bought Tom Petty tix thru Comcast. They kept sending messgaes saying
Sorry, We can not locate your cart"
kind of frustrating, but i did eventually get tix.
stop looking here; there's nothing to see

Live Nation sells through Ticketmaster, they are partners. So even if some shows are listed only on Live Nation's site, or TM's site, they are all sold through ticketmaster. If you go to the livenation site to purchase tickets for the Alpine show on March 3, it will redirect you to ticketmaster's site. LiveNation does not have their own ticketing system, they are only promoters, thats why they partner with TM. LiveNation and TM are partners until then end of 08 or 09 their contract ends, I dont remember what year. The only agency other than TM that is selling tix for JB's shows is comcasttix for the philly show.

Comcasttix is part of New Era tickets. New Era sold the tix for the 2005 show. New Era day of sale service was horrible. Their system crashed about 10 minutes into the sale. But their customer service was better about 1 week into the sales. :)

the interesting thing about comcasttix is that they ship the tix really fast. About a week after the order, they arrive at your door. the one big "b****" i have with them is their shipping fee. If you choose the mail option, the charge is $3.50. (even ticketmaster doesn't charge that). I believe the print at home option is $2.50 (which blows the mind since you are doing all the work) but that is a conversation for another time. Overall it's a decent experience, although it's very unpredictable of when their system might crash.

The contract between Ticketmaster and Live Nation is set to expire at the end of this year.
