Anyone on the "inside"?

Post by bonefish »

As in, you work for Ticketmaster ("Ticketbastard"), Live Nation, Land Shark Lager, the venue, sponsor, etc. etc.

At most shows, I would say there are probably 500 'premium' seats (first 5 rows in center or in the side sections but close to center). My question is, what % of these tickets are for the band, promoters, etc. and what % is open to the general public where you have to be lucky as all hell to get them online or the phone?
Roll with the punches
Play all of his hunches
Make the best of whatever came his way
What he lacked in ambition
He made up with intuition
Plowing straight ahead come what may

Almost none of the above mentioned tickets are held back from an on-sale. Sometimes we may hold back a pair of front row tickets for a radio promotion, but in almost all cases, band and promoter holds are for tickets that are further back.

In sheds or theatres, band guests can usually be found about 7-8 rows back and in arena shows look for band guests a few sections of the side of the stage (usually stage left in most venues).

More venues now offer subscription seats which are almost always bought by ticket brokers and now some bands have elected to sell premium packages with meet & greets our soundcheck parties.
