Where in the World is Buffett?
The country music DJ on the local radio station said he was on vacation in Key West last week and heard Jimmy was recording at Shrimpboat Sound. The DJ said he stuck around hoping for an autograph and a sighting, but didn't get either. He talked all about the chickens and double clawed cats, and the world's worst magic show.

They said when his horse won the race he was on his boat at St. Barts, wasn't that just a couple of days ago?jbphan1 wrote:The country music DJ on the local radio station said he was on vacation in Key West last week and heard Jimmy was recording at Shrimpboat Sound. I'm pretty sure CIP in Asheville closing was my fault.f2cdlzrd wrote:ASHEVILLE!! Woohoo!! Downtown is only 5 minutes from my house. At least I know he is NOT at Cheeseburger in Paradise...(sail on).
My kids and myself deciding to go out to eat one day, and my 13 yr old insisted on CIP.
The service was Great. The food was Great. The booth was Great.
I actually ate an entire rack-o-ribs. we shared the string onions and popcorn shrimp...it was all great.
the only complaint would have been the fact we didnt hear any JB music while there...so we went back to the truck and played CIP while in the parking lot.
That was on Saturday....they closed their doors for good that night.
I am pretty sure it was our fault....too many things went too right for it to stay open any longer!!!
BUT...I am one of the few that gets to say the experience at Asheville CIP was great

I have it from a very good source that Willie Nelson wanted to put a Jimmy Buffett song on his forthcoming album, but certain powers that be rejected the idea.
Maybe that is not what is happening in a case like this? Maybe the powers that be were told to beat it.

One of Kenny's employees had told me that someone was "preventing" the Buffett song from being a part of Willie's album.

Maybe because of Willie's recent police run in that included some drugs, and JB didnt want his name associated with him?Bwana Paul wrote:One of Kenny's employees had told me that someone was "preventing" the Buffett song from being a part of Willie's album.
Then again, there is the whole JB - France incident too...

The CIP by my house (Woodbridge, VA) used NOT play much Buffett except for CIP every 50 minutes.....quite annoying actuallyz-parrothead wrote:I'm pretty sure CIP in Asheville closing was my fault.f2cdlzrd wrote:ASHEVILLE!! And they have a wait list most nights we're there.....so hopefully they will remain open....
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"
