He did some years ago but since the 90's he's been playing Fiddler's.

Red Rocks only seats around 9,000.

Fiddlers (now Coors) he hasn't played since '01.

Since then it's been the Pepsi Center or bust.

The size shouldn't matter, though. Big enough for DMB. Belly Up seats about 450ppl

Size matters to the bottom line. The Belly Up shows were for charity, so those are a different animal altogether.

Why play a 9,000 seat place, when you could easily sell 20,000 (give or take) tickets?

I'm saying it would be more for the experience than the revenue. Not trying to get in a fight over it.....He's done small shows before, thats why I ask. They could always charge more for tickets if it's the revenue thats a concern.

Exactly. Belly-up was a true exception.

9,000 seats was enough for DMB, but that was for 2-3 nights in a row. It's been since the 90's, and early at that, Jimmy has played multiple shows here.

Plus, tailgating at RR can be challenging as lots usually open up about 2 hours prior to show (unless they make exceptions).

It would be the most fantabulous place in the world to see Jimmy, IMO, since I grew up a stones-throw from Red Rocks.

One of the few places you can still bring coolers and drinks (non-alcoholic of course).

Imagine a campsite next door, you are in the middle of nowhere (ie no one getting busted), and then JB lands his Goose out on the river. That was frigging cool.

Morrison wants Buffett Back!

Post by MileHighPirate »

STILL living a stone's throw from Red Rocks, I am hoping to hear Jimmy Buffett's name brought up when the phrase, "The NEXT show announced to be at Red Rock is....."

With THE BEST SOUND IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, you can't go wrong!

The acoustics, the jaw dropping enviroment, RED ROCKS HAS IT ALL!

In the gift shop around the walking trails at Red Rocks, I noticed a framed Jimmy Buffett Poster of his last time at Red Rocks. It was very surreal to see.

Come back to Morrison, Colorado!

How could you skip out on the best outdoor amphitheater in AMERICA!?!?!

Forget about the profits for a night OR THREE!

COLORADO IS READY FOR THE RETURN OF JIMMY BUFFETT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And..pics are ONE thing, SEEING IT IN PERSON is THE TRUE EXPERIENCE!

YOU HAVE TO GO TO RED ROCKS for a SHOW!

We try to do a minimum of 2 shows at Red Rocks every summer.

We usually have new friends or family come to experience it for the first time too.

Hope you get to make it there one day.

There are 70 rows at Red Rocks.

If you're standing around Row 40 or so, you would have a perfect eyeline view of the city of Denver way off into the horizon.

Truly Amazing! Remember getting stuck at a show there years ago (in the middle of the show) when lightning was striking down all around us, thunder erupting, rain pelting everyone. THAT was crazy!

I saw Jimmy at Red Rocks back in the mid-80s (from looking at the set list link it must have been summer of '86). I have to agree with everything positive that's been said about Red Rocks - it is a great place to see Buffett.

Will he ever go back?

Never say never . . .

We saw Tom Petty in back to back shows in 2005 and then we flew to Chicago to see JB back to back shows at Wrigley over Labor Day. SIGH - one of the best weeks ever. BUT Red Rocks is AWESOME.....I could see him playing there someday....
