I think we will just take Exit 10. Richard, any one of these particular roads that are to the right on 238 better than another in terms of parking? We are pretty excited for the show too.
Looks like the weather will nice and hot too. Yikes I will have to watch my consumption. The heat can work against me. That would not be good.

The official Venue page says 3pm. Gates open at 6pm, show starts at 8pm. I. Am. Ready.

If it doesn't open til 3, I will have been sitting there for 3 hours already. Last year was supposed to be 2 and there were a ton of people already in when I got there at 2. I am shooting for noon.

As for the question about which road, I am actually coming from the other side (not the interstate) and I always take Promise Rd but you won't need to come down that far. There is a big new mall that will be over to your left after you take the exit. Any one of those roads across from it should be ok for you.

Yeah, I wonder if enough people get lined up then they go ahead and open the lot. Still, I've called the venue the day before and gotten a different time than what was on the website. Either way, I don't get up until around noon anyway so 3 is what I'll plan on. The back lot was easier to get out of last year because it is a lot smaller than the main lot but there probably wasn't as much tailgating as in the main lot. I've parked in the premier lot before, and while you get out of the venue faster, you still may get detoured the long way back to the highway so I don't personally think it's worth it.

I know last year the lot was open a little before noon. Hopefully it will be the same this year.

Just so no one gets in a bind at the gate... here's the rules from the venue:

Jimmy Buffett
Tuesday July 29th, 2008
Parking Opens at: 3:00 pm
Gates open at: 6:00 pm

The following items will be permitted for Jimmy Buffett on Tuesday, 7/29/08:

* Inflatable’s (Beach Balls, Inflatable Sharks ect…)
* Small backpacks/purses (will be searched)
* Binoculars
* Ponchos or Rain Coats
* Umbrellas - 36'' or shorter
* Beach Chairs- we kindly request that the seat bottom sit no higher than 9'' off of the ground.
* Water (NO BOTTLES ALLOWED) Water will be poured into cups at gates
* (1) 1 gallon (zip-lock) bag of food per person
* NON-AEROSOL suntan lotion
* NON-AEROSOL bug spray
* Blankets/Tarps

The following items WILL NOT BE PERMITTED for Jimmy Buffett on Tuesday, 7/29/08:

* NO CAMERAS OF ANY KIND
* NO Knives or weapons of any kind
* NO Audio Recording Devices
* NO Video Recording Devices
* NO Camping Chairs in Carrying Bags
* NO Glow Wands/Sticks
* NO Contraband Merchandise
* NO Aerosol Bug Spray and/or Suntan Lotion
* NO Basketballs, footballs, etc.
* NO Signs/Banners
* NO Laser Pointers

No cameras at all. Wow.

That's all Jimmy, right there. Not a fan of that rule.

I suppose I should also include this fact passed along to me from a Noblesville police officer for those of you driving home after the event, and for those underage folks in the parking lot.

Indiana State Excise Police will be in plain-clothes in the parking lot (like always) and they have brought in 60 extra officers to monitor drunken-driving in, around, and down the road from the venue after the show.

Be smart, y'all, and toss the keys to someone else if you need to. JB isn't worth a year or two of legal troubles.

Yeah, I had a buddy get busted leaving the lot two years ago. Be safe and smart! And for the ladies, those small digital cameras seem to be able to be smuggled in if you have the room up top for them. That is how we get our pictures.

it's always tucked away where guy security never checks

Cameras. Seems like I did not have any problem a couple of years ago.

The drink cops do patrol before and after, so play it smart.

The back orange lot is much easier to get out of...Parking is "free" included in ticket cost...and no one but cops are around after the show to help you out...

I will be in the "blue" lot according to that. I went out and bought a helium filled Tiki God balloon and I will be flying it tomorrow. If you see it, come by and say hi. It will be by my wife's boring gray Ford Freestyle SUV thing. I should have plenty of drinks if you are thirsty.

Richard we will stop by depending on where we end. We are leaving at 10 cst. so we hope to be there about 3 or so. Looks like the drinks are a chilling awaiting for their comsumption.

That's usually what I do too. However, a few years ago I was foiled by random wand searches at the gate. Didn't see any at the back lot last year, but you never know. Well, guess it's time to start getting ready. Have a fun, safe show everybody!!!
