I HATE Ticketmaster!

One of the reasons I've pretty much given up on going to Buffett concerts.

I figured since it has been three or four years, I would buy a pair of tickets (pavilion would have been great, but any would have done the job) for my wife's birthday in a few days. I've got a TM account, should be no problem. I'm ready set ... 10:00 ... GO! I tried non-stop for 20 minutes using "best available" (again any tickets would have been fine) ... NOTHING! Absolutely nothing every frickin' time!

I HATE TICKET MASTER!!!!!!

I'd buy a pair of pavilion seats if anyone has a pair.

I was very lucky I scored 6 tickets in the Pavillion. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Fishers. they have a package deal and a group of us will be there.

Congrats to everyone who got their tickets. They sure did go fast. My group ended up scoring big time this year. I can't wait.

Right at 10, I was able to get 3 pavilion in section G, row W. Not the best but I took them. This was at a ticketmaster outlet (yes, I'm oldfashioned). Last year I pulled Section A. Can't believe so many were gone right at 10!

Staying at the Staybridge on Crosspoint Blvd. $97 a night on orbitz.com

A friend of mine had to deal with this:

http://www.theindychannel.com/entertain ... etail.html

I gave up on TM outlets years ago. After 3 years of being shut out, I had good luck with the internet until last year. So far, I'm running about 4 to one odds using the internet with a cable modem. I've bought from brokers before, and have sworn I'll never do it again. If I can't find tix in the lot I'll leave a half hour before the show starts and listen to it from the comfort of my home on RM. I'm suprised I haven't heard of more people having RM parties during their respective local shows. Sounds like a great opportunity to have a wonderful time in the comfort of your own home with some fellow Parrotheads :D

We're going to Indy. We're from North Alabama. We usually go to Charlotte instead because we don't like the Atlanta set up even though it's closer.

We have lawn tickets, but that's OK! Anyways, do they allow those lawn chairs with no legs at Indy? They do at Charlotte.

video screens inside the pavillion

We have never been to this venue before. Does anyone know if there are video screens next to the stage so a "shorter" person will be able to see if there are taller people in front of her inside the pavilion?

There are indeed screens on either side of the stage. As for the lawn chairs with short legs question, I'm not sure because I've never tried it. They have short chairs for rent, although they have no neck or upper back support. To be honest, if you're in the lawn everybody will be standing except during intermission. That's why I stopped renting them years ago.

A few tips for folks coming in for the show:

If you want to avoid traffic heading north of Indy, jump on to SR 37 North at Exit 5 towards "Noblesville". Then, cut west on 166th St behind Chick-Fil-A and go to Boden Road. Take a right and it will run you right into the parking lot. (Only use this route close to show time... at noon when the lots open there won't be any traffic)

If you're looking for a hotel, use kayak.com and find stuff around 96th Street & I-69 (Fishers is the town).

Don't drink in the lots if you're underage... excise are everywhere...

There's a brand new mall (almost finished) right across the street from the venue...

Visit the venue website if you're coming from the north (Fort Wayne, Muncie, Anderson) and take the alternate way off of I-69 to the venue.

The only way you'll beat traffic out is if you walk quickly or jog immediately after the final encore. (Yes it can be done for all of those who leave early!)

hmm... any other questions? feel free to PM me. I live 5 miles from Verizon!

Can't wait to have y'all!

I'm a newbe here but the info here helped me get tickets for my wife and I to the Indy show. We've stayed in the Staybridge Suites next to the Cheeseburger In Paradise before and think it's a great location. It's only about 7 miles from the concert. The rooms are kinda $$$. but it's going to be our only vacation we get this summer. I'll be sitting on the outdoor patio at Cheeseburger the day before the concert drinking cold ones and trying to visualize that I-69 is the ocean.

I have a question for indymiller24 or anyone familiar with how it works for the tailgating at the indy concert. I'm guessing you can't have glass bottles in the parking lot but what is "ok". A plastic pitcher with drink of choice? Can beer? What kinds of things are allowed? I've tailgated at sporting events before but never at a Buffett concert.

Side note: I got an email from Ticketmaster that said my tickets for the Indy show had been printed. I'll be watching the mail.

So...now that this has been broadcast, I imagine that the traffic will be as bad this way as going main routes...Thanks!!!

I've been drinking out of glass bottles for the past 10 years in the lot. I usually have mine in a bottle coozy, but last year I brought Modelo which doesn't fit any coozy I've found so far. Security passed right in front of me and said nothing. The lot rules seem to change from year to year, they don't seem to like open flames in grills, but I saw several gas grills last year running right up to show time. Not to mention the lady on a Segway with a Margaritaville Margarita machine a couple years ago. To be honest I think so long as you're not making a total A$$ of yourself in the lot you'll be fine. Security seems to look mostly for people making trouble than anything else. There are 3 lots at Indy, a Huge main lot and two secondary lots behind the venue. I've been in all several times and never had any issues except for the one time we tried to use a charcoal grill about 7 years ago. BTW, I also got the "Your tickets have been printed" message a couple days ago. Like you, I'm anxiously awaiting 8)

transportation

I am looking for transportation options to the venue. The holiday inn at fishers has a package with food/booze/bus/hotel. It is a little pricey at $325 for 2 people.

Anyone know of other options? A last resort may be a cab ride. Looks like that will be about $45-50 one way.

Thanks: blank1127

The info you provided about the lots at Indy, was just what I was looking for. Now where are those tickets. I won't be able to relax till I have them in my hands. My sister e-mailed me and said she got tickets to the St. Louis show.

The tickets came in the mail today. I can relax now. Now I just need it to be July. Oh well, I'm opening my tiki bar up for the season next weekend so I'll have enough work there to keep me busy till then.

Hmmm, I should go check my mailbox then. And yeah, I haven't had any trouble with glass in the parking lot either. I did have a friend lose a fight with the grill last year though. Somebody got a picture of the unfortunate incident. Sorry Carey when you see this!!!
