Mike Smith, the lead singer from the Dave Clark 5 dead of pneumonia.

Used to love that group, but they were very much in the shadows of a much bigger British group at the time.

DAMN!

The Dave Clark Five were my SECOND favorite band at that time.
(I'll bet nobody can guess who was #1 for me).

They (D.C. 5) are to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th. (Along with John Mellencamp and-UGH-Madonna).

Sail on, Mike, and thanks for the great music. You made a whole generation of fans glad all over.

I liked a lot of their stuff, and for a while it was a toss-up with me. They had a good career, but were overshadowed by the Beatles which was a shame for them.

Or Dooley Womack (THE Dooley Womack) being overshadowed by Fred Talbot.

They were great favorites of mine as well - they were the first concert I ever went to! (I think Herman's Hermits opened.)

I got this 50 song double C.D. from a T.V. ad a few years ago.

It's still available on amazon.com

If you liked the Dave Clark Five even ONE-TENTH as much as I did, you NEED to have this C.D.
