Used to love that group, but they were very much in the shadows of a much bigger British group at the time.
Sail on, Mike.

DAMN!
The Dave Clark Five were my SECOND favorite band at that time.
(I'll bet nobody can guess who was #1 for me).
They (D.C. 5) are to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th. (Along with John Mellencamp and-UGH-Madonna).
Sail on, Mike, and thanks for the great music. You made a whole generation of fans glad all over.

Dave Clark (seated) with band mates Denis Payton (Saxophone) and Mike Smith (Keyboards).
Both Smith and Payton have now passed away.

I liked a lot of their stuff, and for a while it was a toss-up with me. They had a good career, but were overshadowed by the Beatles which was a shame for them.LIPH wrote:I'm almost afraid to say this, but back in the days of the British invasion I liked them better than the Beatles.

Sort of like Lou Gerhig being overshadowed by Babe Ruth.ejr wrote:I liked a lot of their stuff, and for a while it was a toss-up with me. Or Dooley Womack (THE Dooley Womack) being overshadowed by Fred Talbot.
