Used to love that group, but they were very much in the shadows of a much bigger British group at the time.

Sail on, Mike.

I'm almost afraid to say this, but back in the days of the British invasion I liked them better than the Beatles.

DAMN!

The Dave Clark Five were my SECOND favorite band at that time.
(I'll bet nobody can guess who was #1 for me).

They (D.C. 5) are to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th. (Along with John Mellencamp and-UGH-Madonna).

Sail on, Mike, and thanks for the great music. You made a whole generation of fans glad all over.

Dave Clark (seated) with band mates Denis Payton (Saxophone) and Mike Smith (Keyboards).
Both Smith and Payton have now passed away.

I liked a lot of their stuff, and for a while it was a toss-up with me. They had a good career, but were overshadowed by the Beatles which was a shame for them.

Don't be afraid to say it. Say it proudly. I too liked them better.

Sort of like Lou Gerhig being overshadowed by Babe Ruth.

Or Dooley Womack (THE Dooley Womack) being overshadowed by Fred Talbot.

They were great favorites of mine as well - they were the first concert I ever went to! (I think Herman's Hermits opened.)

I got this 50 song double C.D. from a T.V. ad a few years ago.

It's still available on amazon.com

If you liked the Dave Clark Five even ONE-TENTH as much as I did, you NEED to have this C.D.
