Nice scoop!
Heading north to Frisco anyway. May have to make it a week-long trip. That would be new territory for me.

The real stupid thing is the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre does not allow tailgating.
I'm debating on even buying tickets.

From the Venue website:
Tailgating and drinking are not permitted on Verizon Wireless Amphitheater parking lots, per Maryland Heights City ordinance. A wide variety of food and beverages are available inside the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater before and during every performance, and you are allowed to bring food with you into the venue, see below for further info.

I didn't buy my plane ticket for Dallas yet. I just did a quick check, I can fly from NY to St. Louis to Dallas and back to NY for $365 on Southwest. Most of the NY/Dallas round trips I was looking at were in the $320-$360 range. I need to think.
Tailgating

Well, I admit I did not attend the concert ten years ago, but I was told there was no tailgating. In fact the rumor was flying around that Jimmy would not return to STL because of the no tailgating rule....But in fact he wasn't returning until the amphitheater changed ownership. Appears that the old ownership was wanting a portion of the profit from the sales of HIS merchandise (T-shirts etc).
Maryland Heights passed the ordinance in 1995 in response to the Guns-n-Roses riot in 1991 (why it took 4 years to pass I have no clue). But as you know, Parrot Heads are a different breed than GNR fans......Now it looks like we have to pay for it.

Do you know if they are going to allow tailgating for the concert in St. Louis? The city of Maryland Heights has an ordinance that does not allow Tailgating/Drinking in the parking lot, that is why he has not been here in so long.

From the STLtoday article:
There is no service charge at the box office during the first week of sales.
What are the chances that tickets will last 10 minutes?
I had decided I wasn't going to spend the money to see Jimmy this summer, but if he's going to be in town, I'm going to have to reconsider.

Any word on the pre-sale? Currently there are no options to even choose StL or Verizon Amphitheater.
If any info, please post!

I WAS at that Guns and ROses concert.. one of the fools at the time who jumped on stage. I did not burn, loot or destroy anything. I will tell you though thats a pretty high jump off the stage. Still have the scar to prove it. Oh my younger days. No regrets though... hopefully the tailgaiting will go through. I already got a room at Harrahs....

So where is everyone staying around there, I am coming from WI, I have a room at the Holiday Inn right now, but a $59 room at Harrahs is awfully tempting. When I ve gone to other venues, seems Holiday Inn is the place to be especially if there is no tailgaiting. Any thoughts
