Not sure where you can download it (legally), but check out your local Barnes & Noble or B. Dalton bookstores. I've seen lots of copies of the book on their sale rack and some are the edition that had the free CD of the song enclosed.
Salt air it ain't thin,
It can stick right to your skin,
And make you feel fine
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.

The song was included as a CD single with the book. As far as I know, that's the only way you could get it. It's not on any album and he hasn't played it live, at least not at a concert that was broadcast on Radio Margaritaville, so there aren't any live recordings available.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Yes, go buy the book. As a matter of fact, got it as a Christmas present this past year with CD in tow. I already had been given the paperback several years ago. Now I have the hardback and CD. Didn't know it was still being distributed.
Hardback version is available as an overstock.we4phlocks wrote:TinCup4aChalice wrote:Not sure where you can download it (legally), but check out your local Barnes & Noble or B. Dalton bookstores. I think only the first editions of the book had the disc included...SharkOnLand wrote:They had a couple of copies of the hardcover in Wal-Mart a few weeks back (on one of the cheap book tables they put out every so often), but neither of the copies had the disc in it. I would have picked up an extra or 2 had they had the CD in them.

someone gave me the book for Christmas not knowing I already have it.
I just checked it and now I got the cd twice.
Actually three times because it's also on the audio version of the book that someone also gave me.

Here we are, maybe it's because in spite of all the work we do
It's the child in us we really value

I swear I heard it LIVE at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, CA April 7th, 2005. Guess I should check the concert playlist.wpmcsg wrote:I always wondered why he never played that tune during the entire tour that was named "Salty Piece of Land"........it's a decent tune, imho.

Honest, Molly - color me incredibly confused! Maybe it was acid flashback on my part, but I remember thinking at the time how cool it was that he was doing a song that hadn't been released yet (to my knowledge at the time) and wondering if he did that regularly in his shows. To be honest, I'm really puzzled - I know I'd gone to only one show in 2004 and that he didn't play "Salty" during "Salty Piece of Land Tour"[2005] or later. I see what the set list says...but gosh...I swear that I saw him do it before the Salty simulcast at the Regal theaters...springparrot wrote:Not according to http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28614Martyritaville wrote:He played it at the first Vegas show October 16, 2004.

I have no explanation...
I guess I'll have to say I'm really confused as to why that memory burns so strongly - when it appears that I must be mistaken...
*sigh* Thanx, Molly - guess I owe you one.
My apologies, all.
