HI all.
Vacation was great!
I'll try to sum it up.
Seven Days in Miramar beach from April 22nd through April 29th.
Wonderful beach home in Miramar Beach ON THE BEACH made ALL the difference.
Sunsets on the beach, sitting on your own deck as the ocean sways as you sit there with your boat drink(S).
Pompano Joe's turned out to be our favorite place to eat. I recommend the SHRIMP SANDWICH (which I had twice while on vacation).
Took our 1-year-old to FUDPUCKER'S one day to see the alligators. He wasn't too impressed. Ha.
Wayne and Cathi, the "local couple" and Parrotheads here that we met, were nothing short of WONDERFUL to us!
They greeted us to their home paradise, and we gladly accepted the invitation.
One night, he gave us the most generous gesture ever.
Being a chef, he went WAY OUT OF HIS WAY to make us:
BACON WRAPPED STUFFED SHRIMP WITH CRAB!
My God Man!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was AMAZINGLY GREAT!
What else.......
Last 3 days we were there, we saw DOLPHINS 100 yards directly out in front of our beach house everyday on the ocean! Very cool. Our last full day there, I saw a Dolphin ride a big wave toward us.
Made Miramar Beach MY OWN MARGARITAVILLE!
Probably had 2 GALLONS of Margaritas while I was there.
We had the Super IPOD with Speakers playing endless BUFFETT DAY IN AND DAY OUT for 7 Straight Days on our beach deck.
My Son got to see the beach for the first time! He loved every moment of it!
We made sandcastles everyday in front of our beach house.
Got a very nice tan and BARELY got burnt (thank you 70 and 85 SPF Neutrogena!).
Made one trip to CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE for happy hour.
Our Margs turned out to be very tart (or it could have been the icing on the cake for 6 straight days of a few drinks a day). Our Son turned sour himself there (read: Bad mood), so our trip to CIP was cut short.
Our 3rd day of the trip (yes, this is completely OUT OF ORDER), we drove 35 minutes east to Panama City Beach to go to.........
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville!
We had a blast! We were there a couple hours.
Saw the airplane show with the cannon blasts, etc.
Had a CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE and some very strong and tasty Margaritas.
Got a PCB M'Ville Drinking Glass as my souveneir. Couldn't find a shirt I had to have.
Basically enjoyed a couple hours there and said, "Alright! Back to Our Beach House!"
Had long walks on the beach at sunset.
Met up twice with Wayne and Cathi at THE WHALE'S TAIL.
Almost our final day there, Wayne tells me, "OKay. Your vacation is almost over, so I'll tell you: Someone caught a 7 1/2 foot SHARK right near where your beach house is!" THE GUY WAS JUST FISHING on the beach! FINS UP, indeed!
One night, the only "bad" day of weather, a storm rolled in late at night over the ocean. I sat out on our deck, watching the waves go crazy and the clouds roll hard over the ocean. I was SO tired, but I said, "I don't get this view everyday!" So, I stayed up from 11:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. watching the storm on the beach from our deck. Very cool!
MOST BEAUTIFUL IMAGE: Woke up at 3am on Day #2 and looked outside.
A nearly FULL MOON was out in a dark sky and the ocean below (one long ray of light) glistened an image I have never seen before in my life! I sat there for almost 30 minutes (again, I was tired) and was blown away by this MOTHER, MOTHER OCEAN view I have never seen before. The ocean was peaceful, and it lit up like I had never seen before.
So, in a nutshell: Boat Drinks, RELAXATION, Sun, Sand, Beach, Seafood EVERYDAY, RELAXATION and one of the best Vacations EVER!
Went by so fast as vacations do. Next time? I want to do a MINIMUM of 10 days if possible.
THAT trip, however, could be one of my dream trips to Kauai.
Thank YOU WAYNE AND CATHI.
THANK YOU MIRAMAR BEACH!
Our Mountain Family enjoyed living life with a 180 degree spin on our own reality!
We'll be back to the Ocean sooner than later.
Ryan
p.s. never made it to parasailing. Weather interfered one day, and ended up spending most of our time on the beach, laughing and relaxing as a family.
