Whats Blossom like? Not worring about tailgating, but am curious about views from the seats and the sound. Eric Clapton is there May 31, and I have to see him.

I like Blossom. There are some beams that can get in the way if you're sitting on the lawn, but you shouldn't have a problem if you're getting pavillion seats. I think the sound is pretty good...I've sat on the lawn and in the pavillion many times and never noticed a problem with the sound. Let me know if you have any other questions.

What's Cleveland like? You're from Pittsburgh? Have you seen the signs, bumper stickers, t-shirts, key chains, tattoos, body paint and PPG building lit up on game weekend?

Cleveland s*cks.

OOPS, my bad, sorry.

I thought this was the Steelers chat site for a minute.

I'm sure Cleveland is a very nice city to visit and the people are very nice.

It's just their football team I have a problem with.....

I've been to one Buffett concert at Blossom. The only thing I didn't like about it is it seemed like it took about an hour to get inside from the parking lot. It was a pretty long walk and I'm an old guy.

It wasn't nearly as long as the trek south you made, ahead of the imminent ice age.

Yeah, being a Steeler fan I already know all that stuff, and I own one of those t shirts. :D

Scored some great seats for this show. Section 14, row E, seats 3 & 4. Five rows from the stage for Clapton.......oh yeah, I'm stoked !! Took LIPH's advice about the long walk and went with the premium parking too.
Landshark Girl.....what about a hotel? Whats the closest one to Blossom?

Well, can't say I've ever stayed in a hotel in the area since I live in the area...but there is a Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls that is really nice, but probably expensive. It's right on the "falls" and is really pretty and scenic. There is also a Country Inn and Suites that is pretty close, and probably not quite as expensive and the Sheraton. I would just do a search for hotels in Cuyahoga Falls. There are a few to choose from depending on what you're looking for. You could also consider staying in Akron or the surrounding area. Blossom Music Center is about 30-40 minutes away from Cleveland, so, I wouldn't bother looking to stay in Cleveland.

Either way I wouldn't plan on wearing your "Cleveland Sucks" shirt...may not be a good way to bond with the locals. ;o)

Thanks, Landshark Girl. I wasn't sure what area to look for hotels in, Cuyahoga Falls, or Akron. It's just going to be me and my daughter, so scenic, or romantic, does not matter. Clean and close to an IHOP, is what matters. She loves IHOP !! I had a lot of relatives from the Cleveland area when I was younger, ( they've all passed away since ) and used to spend some time there. One of them owned a large chain of grocery stores there, but for the life of me, I can't recall his last name now. Guess I'll leave my Cleveland sucks shirt at home for this trip. :D
Actually, I don't really think Cleveland sucks all the time....just during football season, and from what I've been reading, you guys have made some good free agent signings so far.
Hey we got a GREAT rivalry between us and I'm sure you guys up there have a few special names for us too. :D
We made a weekend trip to Findlay OH last summer. My daughter and I both scuba dive, and theres a quarry near there called Gilboa. Ben Roethlesberger is from Findlay and I swear that EVERY kid in that town wears a #7 Steelers jersey.

yeah, we have a lot of steelers fans in ohio...especially in youngstown which is about halfway between cleveland and pittsburgh. i've never understood it, personally...but, hey, too each his own. ;o) and i don't think pittsburgh sucks all the time either...i love pittsburgh when buffett is in town(that is until i get a little drunk and start chanting "here we go brownies" at post gazette pavillion).

i can ask around and see if there is an ihop in cuyahoga falls...i don't know off hand. definitely check cuyahoga falls first to see if there are any good hotels.

No Ihop in Cuyahoga Falls. The closest one is in Akron, about 12 miles away!
