Alabama Jimmy Songs

Planning a spring break trip to the Gulf Shores and was looking to put together a mix CD of all the Jimmy songs that have references to Alabama in them. While I've used the song index, many songs don't have a direct "Alabama" reference.

So help me out.

1. Bama Breeze
2. Stars on the Water

I know quite a few more, but would love you input, as well as thinking through if songs like "Life Is Just a Tire Swing" should qualify.

I have a five year old son excited about the trip. His favorite song is "Bama Breeze" and his favorite line is "Jimmy got caught smoking a joy..." (Not going to correct that yet...)

That comes in second to my seven year old daughter asking me if she could sing "My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink, and I Sure Love Jesus" in church sometime.

Peace,
Matt

what about Merry Christmas, Alabama? maybe your trip doesn't need a Christmas theme??

Your son is FIVE now? wow, time flies.

Dreamsicle is absolutely great. I know it was listed already, so I guess I'm giving it a second!!

have fun!

Gulf shores-related: "Down Around Biloxi" (I think that's the title..I tried searching for the lyric database on Margaritaville, but the site's changed and I couldn't find it...and I haven't had much coffee yet...but I digress [smilie=battingeyes.gif] )

And, yes, I think Life Is Just A Tire Swing should count, but only because it's one of my favorite songs.

If you want to hear songs about Gulf Shores/Orange Beach you really need to hear some of Jake and The Half Conched Band's stuff as well. The whole cd is about the area.
You GOT to hear the song "Life on the Gulf"

Thanks for all the ideas...I've checked out Jake and it seems like that needs to be a CD that I get for the trip.

Some other tunes

"I Will Play for Gumbo" (It started at my Grandma's in her kitchen by the sea)

Great call with Merry Christmas Alabama...

Keep 'em coming please!

Peace,
matt

I love, love, love Dreamsicle.

BUT...I think "Creola" fits the theme too.
