oh, yeah, she's not a happy camper.... I kinda doubt there's a "their" bedroom in that house at the moment..... I wonder if the couch is comfy....

I wasn't the Attorney General of New York for 8 years. I'm not the Governor of New York now. As a lawyer, he's an officer of the court. If he broke the law he doesn't deserve to sit in the Governor's Mansion.

If indeed he did partake of the service, which seems pretty apparent at this point given the apology, and the fact that he didn't bring it to the attention of the proper authorities, is pretty much the definition of "avoided prosecuting".....

I am not of the "one awsh*t erases all the attaboys" school of thought, especially for something as low on the awfulness scale as paying to get his ashes hauled one night while he was out of town.

If you can prove he avoided or discouraged prosecuting this ring, when given the opportunity, because of "favors received," yeah, that would be a good reason to kick his you-know-what to the curb. That's abusing the power of office.

But where do we draw the line, when looking at non-job-related offenses of politicians? If he gets pulled over for speeding, is that enough of an offense? DUI? Is oral okay, but intercourse a no-no?

I say give the man another chance. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," and all that.
Agree with you 100%.
sorry guys..

His cases as attorney general included a few criminal prosecutions of prostitution rings and tourism involving prostitutes. In 2004, he took part in an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrest of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges.

if he had been trying to get Prostitution legal and working towards that end, I got no problem..
He put other people in jail for his own vice??

Animal Farm at it's best example...
exactly - This is a man who is not well known for giving people 2nd chances  this isn't just another politician who turns out to be a scumbag or a pervert, this is freakin' Elliot "Ness" Spitzer who earned his reputation for being Mr. Clean - above ANYTHING of this nature. He has destroyed many lives and careers of people guilty of no more serious crimes than this. From some of the details mentioned so far, it sounds as though this is not an isolated situation and he's been potentially juggling money around into "shell" accounts set up for this type of stuff. He's likely trying to determine what all the investigators have uncovered at this point and trying to work out a deal so he can bow out without fear of prosecution. For his sake, I hope he didn't commit any more serious crimes (leading to jail time) because although he would be most welcomed by the inmates, HE WOULD NOT DO WELL IN THE NEW YORK STATE PRISON SYSTEM

Larry's right, state leaders have already said they're giving him a couple of days to do the right thing but if he doesn't, they'll start impeachment procedings. He has truly lost his moral authority and ability to govern
either way, I say good riddance...

While I agree this shouldn't be a crime, it is and the man took an oath to uphold the constitution and laws of the State of New York and he failed to do that. I doesn't matter what he thinks the laws should be, it matters what the law is and prostitution is agains the law and he deserves the consequences of breaking that law.

interestingly, one of the first things I heard mentioned on the news was how this may impact Hillary since he's such a big supporter of her's as well as a Hillary pledged SUPERDELEGATE

If he's supporting Hillary, this will only increase her chances for the nomination and to be <strike>elected</strike> coronated.

As I said, it's not as if he were a Republican.
