So much for Eliot "Law & Order" Spitzer, the 2 term Attorney General. If he doesn't resign he should be impeached.

In the earlier release the article led one to believe that he wasn't just a client but an investor. If he was just a customer, this isn't as juicy as it could be.

...and you've never made a mistake or broken a law?

I am not of the "one awsh*t erases all the attaboys" school of thought, especially for something as low on the awfulness scale as paying to get his ashes hauled one night while he was out of town.

If you can prove he avoided or discouraged prosecuting this ring, when given the opportunity, because of "favors received," yeah, that would be a good reason to kick his you-know-what to the curb. That's abusing the power of office.

But where do we draw the line, when looking at non-job-related offenses of politicians? If he gets pulled over for speeding, is that enough of an offense? DUI? Is oral okay, but intercourse a no-no?

I say give the man another chance. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," and all that.

I agree. As Attorney General and now Governor, he is entrusted to uphold the law. That puts him on a different level that the average joe citizen. Since he broke the law, he can't be entrusted to uphold it anymore.

This isn't some "youthful indiscretion", this is from last month. Sorry Eliot, the exit is that way . . .

sorry guys..

His cases as attorney general included a few criminal prosecutions of prostitution rings and tourism involving prostitutes. In 2004, he took part in an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrest of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges.

if he had been trying to get Prostitution legal and working towards that end, I got no problem..
He put other people in jail for his own vice??

Spitzer is a snake who should never have been elected governor anyway. I hope he is impeached and kicked out of office.

My point in agreeing was based on the fact that we have had so many elected lawbreakers in office, (Sen. Larry Craig and former mayor of D.C. Marion Barry come to mind quickly) that what makes Spitzer any different from them. We seem to have forgiven and forgotten about others, so why not Spitzer?

I'm not saying I condone what he did, cause what he did was break the law. And like anyone else, he should be held accountable, but if others have been given another chance to redeem themselves, so should Spitzer.
