I had the Zacapa and the Diplomatico within minutes of each other, and preferred the Diplomatico.

Haven't done much with Matusalem.

And I officially loooorve drinkupny.com- ordered on Thursday night, order shipped Friday morning, and is here already, with a holiday weekend in there.

I tried the Capt. Morgan Private Reserve over the weekend and was stunned at how good it really was.

When Lacey got a new job just over a year ago (3 months after being laid off)
I bought her a special bottle of rum to celebrate.

Image

It lives under the bar, and only comes out for special occasions.
She said it has been a really tough week, so the bottle just came out of it's case.

OMG :o Pyrat Cask 1623 Rum is amazing stuff.

Mount Gay Eclipse for everyday. There are some "small bottles" in the wine rack for special occasions.

Cockspur Fine Rum
Rhum Barbancourt three star (4 years)
Flor de Cana Gold (4 years)
Cruzan Estate Diamond Rum (5 Years)
Appleton Estate V/X

Time to go rum shopping. :pirate:

Callwoods Arundel Spiced Rum is the best. on the boat we dont mix it with anything. It is smooth, goes down easy and kept us going as our happy hour starter when we sailed our cat from Tortola to Annapolis. Have not been able to find it anywhere but BVI's Perhaps that adds to the flavor!

i'm going to bump this since it's been a while. :D

just got back from a cruise to cozumel - nothing much to show for it, but i was able to pick up a bottle of Mount Gay for under $10.

Also found a bottle of Captain Morgan Black Label (not sold in the States) that I brought back with me. I know it won't be the best dark rum I will ever have, but I was overcome by my curiosity. Looking forward to opening it up here in the next few days.

Gosling's Black Seal Rum
Ginger Beer (not Ginger Ale)
Garnish with a slice of lime if the spirits move you

Cheers,

a friend of mine came back from Costa Rica and brought me a couple bottles of this....

Image

I really like it!!! I've killed one bottle already and the second is 2/3rds gone...have looked online for it and found for the quality, it's surprisingly inexpensive.I prefer it over Bacardi, Appleton or Mount Gay for making drinks....think it'll become a staple in my bar.

Cask is WAY too rich for my blood. Wish it could be a staple, but alas no.
Friend did get me a bottle of Flor de Cana 18 year that I haven't cracked yet. Looking forward to trying it.
