MARCH MADNESS BABY!
I have to say, Tennessee has not impressed me so far. It's been two survive and advance type games. In both games Chris Lofton has been held in check while both American and Butler's best players have gone off on Tennessee shooting. American was right with Tennessee for about 37 minutes before their legs gave out, and it took 45 minutes to beat Butler today.

And how about Villanova? They might be this year's George Mason: probably one of the last at-large teams in, and now making the committee look good by winning a couple games.
What about tiny Davidson....... Gonzaga and Georgetown gone..... this will be an interesting Sweet 16.
dammit.. the Bulldogs are gone? I hate that

for what it's worth.. Watching Duke and UConn go home early, and thinking of Dick Vitale choking having to talk about something else for the rest of the year... priceless.

Well, aside from the UCONN debacle I had Gonzaga going to the Elite 8. But other than that all of my eElite 8 teams are still alive. I did only get 11 of the Sweet 16. Not a complete train wreck but at least a derailment.

Um, let me just say, Let's GOOOOOO Mountaineers!

I'm pretty giddy over getting to see WVU beat Duke this weekend in DC! (I got to see Xavier beat Purdue as well). What FUN!!!

The Mountaineers play Xavier on Thursday at 7:10 pm

Congrats on the big WVU win!

And I am now behind CalOtto and tied with Shark! I told you that your "lead" wasn't safe!

Bob Roberts, you aren't tied for last. If you click on the "View Complete Standings" at the top you will see that you are tied for 6th out of 38 people. There are more of us losers that aren't on the first page. :(

I'm not sure what you're referring to there. There may have been rings after they made it there and got knocked out. Apparently, you don't think making the Sweet 16 is a big deal. I sure know a lot of other teams that'd probably want a Sweet 16 shirt...or ring, whatever, because it IS a big deal.

Making the Sweet 16 is a big deal, but I wouldn't want my team thinking they've reached their potential. I hope even the 16 seeds think they can win it all. Were the rings after the fact? That's OK, but I was reading it as if they were given out while the tournament was still being played.

No they were not given out right after the win. They were given out after WVU was ousted in the tournament, but had reached the Sweet 16. The reason they were given something special was because it was a 5-senior team, which happened to include Belien's son, Patrick.

By the time I typed my reply, I figured out there was no way you could get rings made that quickly. After the season, then celebrate your accomplishments to your heart's content. I'm cool with that.

No harm, no foul. 8)

Where's the Davidson Sweet 16 shirt? That's the one that will become a collectors item. This is all I could find...
