yea, I was wondering what that meant....sit?

Though I would sit, on a blanket, like SGH suggests, until it's time. Just watch for "tto drunks" to approach. Maybe tel them, "Seats taken." But know that you may have to move a bit.

The lawn is great...until it rains!
or someone pukes or pees on you...wear old clothes and take nothing you can't stuff in a pocket and a throw away blanket.

WAY back when, last century, when I first started going the lawn was great. Blankets, food, sharing. Kinda like a Dead concert except less hair and more soap.

Last lawn show I saw, (actually, last century as well but a few years later) passed out drunken college kids and people standing on top of you.

I'll see if it's changed this year.

The only time we sat in the pavillion, the guy next to us threw up just as Margaritaville was starting. At least on the lawn there is always the option to move to a less smelly location.

It's the best $20 you could spend.
Out of curiosity, what venue has prices that would allow you to buy 4-6 drinks for $20?

I always sit on the lawn (well, stand). Definitely don't wear good clothes. I wear flip-flops and just take them off when the music starts. So far I've never had anyone throw up or pee on me, so let's hope that doesn't start. I always have a blast on the lawn. I was next to a grandmother, mother, and daughter a couple of years ago and it was one of the best concerts I went to. They were a blast. Just remember to leave all your worries at home and have a good time.

This is something that I do that is so easy and it helps in so many ways. Yes bring an old blanket. This will define your space before the show starts. When you get into the crowd and see the perfect 12 square feet of green, look at everyone immediately surrounding you. These will be your friends (or not) for the next 3 hours. Sit in the middle and tell everyone to overlap their blankets. What this does is creates a larger landing pad when returning from the beer line/restroom. It also creates natural barriers and traffic will flow around the entire complex. Now less people are walking (and I use the term loosely) next to your blanket. Every time someone fills in around you, do this. It also breaks the ice and gives you something to talk about with your neighbors.
One thing to remember: if you sit in the middle of the lawn expect to be in a higher person/grass density area than on the left/right sides. It will be packed all the way across, but the center is by far the highest density of people.

I dont think there are any that will support 6 people....but I said 4 of the 6.
There are plenty of venues that will sell you 4 drinks for $20.
I didnt say bring them back the good stuff (not that there are any good stuff being sold), but you could certainly buy a watered down beer for $5.00...surely you have found this to be true..?
It's all just as an olive-branch token anyway, so just lean over and hand your neighbors a $5 and tell them to have a great time...it will do the same thing.

That's the only reason why I buy reserved seats. (that's not the reason this year, but has been the reason in the past)
The lawn is WAY fun if you have neighbors that have the same state-of-mind as you have, so here's my advice.
Offer to buy your neighbors a drink! That would be 2 people to your left, 2 people to your right, and 2 people directly behind you. 4 of the 6 will take you up on your offer, but all of them will be cool with you the rest of the night.
It's the best $20 you could spend. It buys "peace" for the evening!!...AND at least 2 of the neighbors will offer to buy you a drink before the nights up, so you kinda break even.
That's good-sound-lawn advice right there.. I dont care who you are. 8) :pirate: (had to throw in some larry the cable guy there :) )
Dude, what concert did you go to where 6 beers cost you $20??? At the Gillette shows last year they were charging $6 a beer....but I agree with your point, make friends with 'em early....makes for a better evening all around

dude didnt buy 6 beers for $20 dawg
I said 4 OF THE 6. Offer the deal to 6 parrotheads...4 OF THE 6 will accept.
I was figuring around $5 a beer...5x4= the $20
(I didnt realize I was going to have to work to make my point..I'd rather just delete it)

I've always had a blast on the lawn in the past! Only problems I have had was with drunk teens who knew nothing about Jimmys music and was just there to drink at the tailgate! Than they end up annoyin the hell out of me for half the show! Main reason why I always buy reserved tickets now!

I'm 31.....don't know if I'll be drunk or not.

I wish I could have bought reserved seats, but we just didn't have the money to spend right now.......also, I want to experience the lawn at least once.

you can also take off the sneakers and use them as your beer holder, if you ever need to set it down for any reason
