Upon further review, as the NFL refs say, it appears Walnut Creek Amphitheatre became Alltel Pavilion, and is now Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion. Great venue. One of the best sheds I've been too. Great tailgating.

Tailgate info from the venue

Post by LadyrumrunnerCL »

Tailgating / Alcohol in the Parking Lot
-There is a City of Raleigh open container ordinance that is in effect in all parking lots.
-This City ordinance specifically prohibits open containers of beer or wine.
-The State of North Carolina laws also restrict open consumption of liquor of any kind.
-Officers from the Raleigh Police Department, Wake County and State of North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Commissions regularly patrol parking lots.
-Walnut Creek Amphitheatre welcomes fans who want to picnic before shows; however, cars must occupy only one parking space. Grills are not permitted on sidewalks, in roadways, near buildings or in any area where guests or property may be damaged.
-Glass bottles are also discouraged.
-Beer, wine, and mixed drinks are served inside venue with proper I.D.
-Please always drink responsibly and appoint a designated driver.

This do not sound like a California free for all tailgate venue. But we are still are going to try and make the event

That may be the law. However, the last time I was there-granted, it was 3 years ago at Kenny Chesney, no law was being enforced.

I was stone cold sober  so I can tell you all the laws, rules, regs you cite were not enforced.

Unless the laws are new, and I don't think they are, law enforcement has been rather forgiving, and willing to look the other way as long as no one is making a spectacle of themselves. :D

This is NOT legal advice....use caution anyway!

Long time lurker...first time poster

Can anyone hazard a guess when I would need to get to the Alltel/Walnut Creek/Sponsor of the Day Box Office to get tix for the Raleigh show? I live about 25 minutes away and figure my odds could be better were I there in person while calling in.

Or, is it a waste of time because all of you will be pounding the phone lines and the site itself will run dry by 10:02? I'm not committed enough to be there at 5:00, shivering in the cold, just to get tickets.

And...June 7? That's typically Crawfish Day at the Farmer's Market. Could add an interesting twist to the tailgating

Maybe...but for James Taylor in late May, it's costing us $109 to buy 3 $20 tickets thru Live Nation. I refuse to pay that much in fees and stuff. I have strong moral issues with what the ticket people do to the consumer.

I'd rather sit home and listen to CD's than pay those fees over the phone or internet.

Just my style I guess.
