Curiousity rearing it's head now. How do you know Mason was dog?
OK. You guys got me. Looks like I got ahold of some bad intel.

I think I saw it in an old (unauthorized) Buffett bio. They said that Mason was his friend, Phil's dog.

Thanks for setting me straight and apologies to the real Mason, whereever she is.

We are struggling for a name...and I'd love to name give her a Buffett related name---but something that true PHs like us could appreciate without it being cheesy (haha, as in paradise)...My creative juices are apparently running dry this week.

Just FYI, our other pets have location related names: Boone, Rocky, Maui...

Any suggestions?

The puppy we are hoping to get is a german shepherd/boxer mix. Here she is

How about Tully. What a cute little face.

I love the name Delaney and always planned on using it as a middle name for a daughter. When I was in college, however, I suggested it to my roommate who named our dog Delaney. It seemed like a great fit, but now my husband and I own Delaney and have a 2nd daughter on the way and my husband doesn't want to use Delaney for a middle name since that is one of our dogs' names. What a dilemma. You'll have to let us know what you decide!

Well, sorry for the delayed response. My birthday was yesterday and we went out-of-town for a mini vacation..but thanks to EVERYONE for their many suggestions!!

As I said before, we wanted something different...but not too obvious...and although there were a ton of names, we narrowed it down to three:

We were trying to decide between Desdemona (which we were thinking before this forum), Havana and Kinja...after officially adopting her and bringing her home today we decided on a name:

**drumroll** (haha, kidding)

Kinja!

Its unique, Buffett-related (but not obvious or cheesy) and fits her completely! So, to those who suggested it, THANK YOU!

I will try to post some pictures of her up this weekend...she's getting used to our other animals at the moment...she is a feisty one!

Idear.

Congrats on your new puppy, she's beautiful. We got a mini daschund almost five years ago and named him Frankie. When we decided to add to our animal family last summer and adopt a little girl mini, it was obvious we had to name her Lola. They look so cute together! Good luck!

Here are some pictures I was able to take this morning. Kinja is feisty, playful and has some odd puppy quirks about her, but so much fun. I also had to get up every 3 hours last night to walk her. I'm told this is preparing me and my husband for kids--we're fine with a puppy for now, though!

When I took the pictures she was just finishing up digging under our deck, hence the dirty nose. It was too cute to clean at that moment. We are gonna have to work on the digging under the deck though. She's already got a hole going in her kennel (which leads under the deck).

The name doesn't matter. What matters is that you cared enough to adopt a dog. Way too many of these wonderful animals never get a chance at life. We adopted a shepard mix four years ago after our beloved fifteen year old Keeshound broke his leg with no chance of recovery so we had him put to sleep.

Charlie came to us later that year from a shelter and he is the most loving and amusing dog that I have ever meet. He was grown and most people don't want an adult dog but gosh is this one great. Bless you for giving the beautiful little animal a second chance.

FYI, do not buy a Margaritaville dog collar, they fade way too fast...

ADORABLE little Kinja

I'd say name her "Spooner" from "Death of an Unpopular Poet."
