AC was not the best tailgating experience. We need to find out if the SJPHC is going to be hosting a party like last year. I ended up forgetting my tickets to the party and going to the Trump beach bar where we drank all day and listened to live music. It was alright but pricy, i never heard how the SJPHC party was but supposidly and most who went last year can comment it was Trump marina on the deck w/ John Frinzi. Anywhere you go you are either gonna be in a bar or on a deck paying 7 dollar beers, i think it was 18 a pitcher.

i was at the marina early and then went to the Ducktown Tavern where the JSPHC had their event. it was fun and right down the street from the Hall. i meant to go to the beach bar but ended up hanging with people at the Ducktown too long. there was a parking lot lot right across the street and people were actually tailgating!! i am going to have to look into getting a spot there this year. i am a member of the JSPHC so as soon i hear anything i will post here.

i think it was like $4/bottle $3/draft or something like that...not too bad. they had a Landshark special i think it was $2/beer...that sold out pretty quick!

i just looked at last years thread and grabbed some info posted last year that may be helpful.

here is the JSPHC invite from last year...
BUFFETT ROCKS AC JUNE 30!
and Here’s Your Parrothead Party Pass to the Ducktown Tavern
2400 Atlantic Ave.
(on the corner of Atlantic and Georgia, one block west of Boardwalk Hall)
COME PARTY WITH THE JERSEY SHORE PARROT HEAD CLUB OF ATLANTIC & CAPE MAY COUNTIES!
Jersey Shore Parrot Head wristband gets you $3.50 beer and $4.50-5.50 drink specials from noon - 8pm
Outside party tent with beer and margaritas
DJ
Burgers, Dogs, BBQ Chicken
$5 cover charge

here is some info on the beach bars with a link to an acweekly article about the beach bars

there are 3 beach bars, a couple closed because of DEP regulations. the 3 are Bally's, Hilton & Trump. Trump is the closest to the Boardwalk Hall, just a block north, Bally's is about .3 miles N & Hilton is about .7 miles S. below is link to an article from this weeks ACWeekly that gives you a rundown of the 3 beach bars. it also tells you about Trump Marina Deck bar, that is where JFrinzi is playing Sat. afternoon. http://acweekly.com/view.php?id=6764

I should be pulling in to AC about 1:00pm give or take...

That $5 cover - does that get you the drink special (wristband) or is there somewhere else to sign up?

I was not able to make it to AC last year, but I thought I heard that there were pre-concert activities taking place on the beach. I even remember hearing that as long as you weren't blatently flashing your alcohol around that the cops didn't stop you from drinking on the beach. Did anyone else hear about this?

Just switched my ressie to Trump Plaza from Ballys - nicer room - better AAA rate Sunday & Monday nite. We aren't getting down there until Sunday so there is no sense in staying at the Trump Marina since Frinzi is most likely playing Saturday and we don't want to drive after the show. I am soooo excited!!! :D

Now for a room . . .
Trump Plaza is a lot cheaper than last year, $197.66 for a deluxe oceanview room with a king bed. Boardwalk Hall is right downstairs . . . I'm smokin!!!!!
If you have AAA it is even cheaper! 8) I decided to go with the city view deluxe room w/king bed - $304 for Sun & Monday nite - I can always hope for an upgrade! :D

I knew it was from last year - I hope I didn't mess anyone up saying that Frinzi would probably play Trump on Sat. I just looked on his website and he is actually in Richmond, VA on Saturday so maybe he will come up this way on Sunday (nothing scheduled yet) either way - I rather have a short stumble home after the show. I can always catch him before the show then drive to our hotel and go to the show. Does anyone know if Trump has a shuttle that goes between hotels? That would even be better! :)

Last year The beach bar at Bally's was great but expensive, Ducktown was alright, I started to head up to White House Subs from Ducktown and came across this great Mexican Bar, nobody spoke English but me and the guy who was translating for me :o at the cost of a few beers, wasn't sure I was leaving the place alive :o Drank corona's for a dollar, and shots of Patron for $5 8) Total Hole In The wall type place but cheap, 3-4 doors from White house subs

We tailgated at the Trump Plaza on the beach last year.....drinks were about $6-7 each and we had a great time. There were a lot of people on the beach in front of the fence at Trump. They were partying pretty hard and we didn't see anyone hassle them. I think as long as you didn't have open containers, drank from a plastic cup and don't go crazy, you were fine. We thought that was a great tailgate.....on the beach! :D
If you are staying at a hotel in AC, walk your cooler to the beach....no grills on the beach....it's totally doable.....just walk it back to the hotel before the concert......hope everyone has a great time! :D

We aren't going this year....I didn't dare ask for a 5th concert....

Hung out there last year with J Frinzi & Fingers and had a great time going down & getting free beers/drinks off my friends boats. this year the Marina should be even more rocking!! We dock our boat at Trump Marina. Last year was a blast. Tell your friends to book the marina early because it will fill up fast.

We got tix today. Can't wait! I have never seen Jimmy in Ac before but it seems like everyone who has has had a great time. I look forward to hearing about the gatherings. AHHHHH, this is gonna be great!

I hope we can get comped. Whta are the best places to get rooms to party before and after and not have to do any driving? We normally stay at Harrah's but I was thinking Ceasar's. Any input from the veterans?
