I'm really sorry I haven't been around but as some of you know my son Tyler has been hospitalized 3 times in the last 4 weeks. The one weekend he wasn't in the hospital I was in Florida at Les & Megan's Wedding. So not much to report on the cruise, since I haven't had any time to check out the other cruise company's on the island. Tyler is still in the hospital and I'm not sure how long I'm going to be held up by this, so if anyone else has any contacts or wants to take over organizing this, I'd appreciate it. I'd hate to see it fade away because I think it would be a lot of fun! I'll be lurking, if nothing else.

ONE FULL WEEK AND NO POSTS!!!!!! That is a weak week!!
Last night on NBC 40, the local TV station, Pinky Kravitz (yes, he goes by Pinky) was saying there was serious talks about aJB's Margaritaville coming to the marina area of Atlantic City. He wouldn't "say" which casino, but there was a big picture of the Borgata behind him the whole time. Here is what he wrote in his weekly column...
A few weeks ago, it was noted in this column that margaritas may be coming to the Marina district of Atlantic City. Rumors abound that not only will there be margaritas in the Marina area, but there will be a complete Margaritaville development. According to those supposedly in the know, in the not too distant future there will be an announcement that will be very pleasing to those who are fans of musician Jimmy Buffett. As of print time, there have been no definitive responses to queries from anyone supposedly involved in this project. No one wants to talk about it — but the rumors persist and there is a belief that this rumor will likely become a reality. You might be asking yourself where in the Marina area would this development be? I have, and it leads this columnist to believe there is only one site that would be suitable for a Margaritaville. I’ll leave it to you to figure it out.
Hopefully that means a few more concerts for AC!!

A Margaritaville in AC would be awesome. How about a Margaritaville Casino. I'll be happy with a bar and reasturant with a performance area and stage. Inside/outside on the bay. We could take the boat. This news has made my Friday!!!!!!

Didn't I read a while back that they were planning an "entertainiment complex" (i.e. resturants, bars and shops) between Borgata and Harrah's?APLATillman wrote:ONE FULL WEEK AND NO POSTS!!!!!! That is a weak week!!

Also, if a M-ville is going anywhere, my guess would be Harrah's. Isn't Jimmy's casino in MS owned or financed by Harrah's ownership?

SCOOP>>>>
Yes there definatley is a Margaritaville coming to AC!!! It will be in the brand new MGM Grand on the bay and connected (the casino) to Borgata. I met some guy who is on one of the "design" teams and he was listing all the stuff that was going to be in the new Grand. I asked are you sure I heard it was going to be in Harrahs and he has a relationship with them in another venture. He said that he did not know about that but that he had seen the plans and it's going to be incredable. I said the Grand or Margaritaville? He said both! The MGM Grand is going to make Borgata look like the others casino and this is going to be the biggest and best MV yet. MGM is working on a 10 BILLION dollar budget!!!!
Something I heard from somebody else about all future casino. Up to now they have had hieght restrictions cuz of the airport/airfield, Bader Field. That's closed and may become a casino site itself. But MGM and the other one they are building may be as high as 70 stories. I think the highest now is 34?
So there it is. I'm off to work hope there was not a need to proof read cuz I'm running late!

THANK YOU TIKI GODS!!
If this becomes a reality this totally makes our year!!
It will be the closest Margaritaville to PA!! We go up to AC often anyway and know the drive well.
Between Margaritaville and the beach I can'n think of a better east coast vacation spot!!
It is a totally practical idea that will work for the fans. As it will help all east coast members of the phlock who are looking for a Margaritaville/Buffett fix who would not be able to make the drive down south etc. cause of gas prices.
Yes, we totally would love to see a casino there. But will be very happy with the cafe.
FINS UP ^

ATLANTIC CITY PRESS - Think of it, Parrotheads. What could be more appealing than sipping drinks by the water and "wastin' away again in Margaritaville?" But this time it will be in Atlantic City, not Key West.
Trump Marina Hotel Casino is being sold in a $316 million deal that will transform the poorest-performing property in Donald Trump's gaming empire into a "Margaritaville" casino of singer Jimmy Buffett fame.
The buyer is Coastal Marina LLC, an affiliate of Coastal Development LLC, a New York company headed by former-Trump-business-associate-turned-enemy Richard T. Fields. As part of the Marina sale, Trump has agreed to end a four-year legal battle that accused Fields of cheating him out of developing the Hard Rock casinos with the Seminole Tribe in Florida.
"They're getting a terrific building in a great location and a wonderful potential redevelopment site," Trump said in an interview Thursday after the sale was announced.
Fields plans to rebrand the Marina into a Margaritaville concept in partnership with Buffett, the singer-songwriter whose career has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years thanks to his legions of "Parrothead" fans. Buffet's 1977 hit song "Margaritaville" reflects the ultimate laid-back lifestyle of soaking up the sun and margaritas in Key West, or "wastin' away again in Margaritaville."
Together with Jimmy Buffett's team at Margaritaville, our plans are to create an exciting new property that we believe will tap its full potential and make it one of the most successful destination gaming resorts in Atlantic City," Fields said.
Harrah's Entertainment Inc., owner of four Atlantic City casinos, is developing the Margaritaville Casino & Resort in Biloxi, Miss., also featuring a Buffett-inspired theme.
Trump Marina includes a 27-story tower of 728 guest rooms and 79,000 square feet of gaming space. Trump Marina Associates manages the adjacent Frank S. Farley State Marina for the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. Coastal Marina will inherit the 50-year marina management lease, which is set to expire in 2038, as part of the sale, according to Juliano.
"That location and the marina setting along with the Margaritaville concept are really a natural," Juliano said. "That's the finest marina, literally, on the East Coast. Part of the reason is that it's very deep, it's very well protected and it's very close to the ocean all at the same time."
Trump Marina, once known as Trump Castle, has been overshadowed by its Marina District neighbors, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and Harrah's Atlantic City. Lacking major improvements, the property is essentially the same one that opened 23 years ago.
The Marina's sale, expected to be completed in six to nine months, is pending regulatory approval by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. Sebastiano said regulators are likely to approve the deal because the rebranded casino should generate more business for Atlantic City than the old Trump Marina.
Local 54 of UNITE-HERE, the city's largest casino labor union, represents 800 of the 1,700 employees at Trump Marina. Local 54 President Robert McDevitt said that under terms of the 2004 agreement, Coastal Marina must assume the union contract terms from Trump Entertainment, with pay and benefits remaining the same under new ownership.
