Actually I have heard a lot about dudleyville, but apparently the area is prone to a lot of seedy characters (the homeless and whatnot), and a lot of crimes have been reported in the area and it can be dangerous. Also it is private property and bunches of people have been arrested for trespassing. Thats the problem with a lot of these haunts, they are private property so it's tough to get in.popcornjack wrote:Here is some infprmation on Dudleyville, CT

Here is another story:
The main administration building on my college campus (I will be graduating in May), also houses classrooms. Almost a hundred years ago the building used to be an orphanage. There were rumors there was a fire and several children died, but no records have proven that has happened, but it is a fact that some children DID die there in some way or another, abuse of the children is a proven fact. Many people have claimed to have heard crying or seen children. The most common noise heard is a child bouncing a ball (which I have heard only ONCE, but I am not saying it is a ghost, it could have been anything).
Our school paranormal club had a paranormal investigator come and speak, and we took a tour of this building afterwards. It was late at night and we were all in a room upstairs and the investigator told us that there was a spirit in the room with us, an older man who he said was a janitor at the orphanage. I didnt hear or see anything that night so the guy could be telling the truth or he might be a wacko.

I've gone "ghost hunting" several times in several different locations - nothing as elaborate as you see on "ghost hunters"
We plan on going to Manresa Castle in Port Townsend. We've got a friend that knows the manager and we'll get the most active room. I can't wait to go sometime

Paranormal State is on tonight at 10 and 1030. The 1030 show has Lorraine Warren on it, arguably the most famous paranormal investigator in the country. Her husband and her investigated the Amityville horror house and several others around the world.ncdeb wrote:I don't know if I believe or not but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the TV show Ghost Hunters. The funny thing is I NEVER watch scary movies but I love the stuff about REAL hauntings or ghosts. Every time I go on trips and they have those ghost tours or walks around the town, I want to go but no one will go with me.
Now if I experienced something in person, by myself, I don't know what I would do?!?

I believe. The man who lived in our for 30 years and who died on my bathroom floor was here for about the first 5 years we lived here. I asked for his permission before we remodeled ...
Just last week, the door to my room flew open in the middle of the night ... it wasn't Mr. Edwards ... not sure who it was, but it was not a happy spirit.

My uncle is a saleman for a plumbing suply company (faucets....) and he left his cell phone in the car. When he got back to it, a customer called him. The conversation went as such:
Uncle " Hi Tom, I see that you had called, I'm sorry I did not have the phone with me"
Tom " Oh no problem. I called your house first and your wife answered, she said you were out on calls. Said she was not well. I told her I would try your cell phone"
Uncle "Not a problem, let me call you back in a few minutes I have another phone call coming in"
Uncle dialing "Mom, were you out at the house today?"
Mom "no"
When the call was placed to the house my Aunt (Uncle's wife) was already dead for over a year! The customer DID call, at the time he told my unlce, at his home number, it was on the caller ID.
Needless to say, our family believes. He has had other strange things happen, but that was the creepiest.
(yes true, really)

Obviously there are some of us that have actually had experiences. I don't feel so alone. When I've related my experiences in the past, some people act like I'm crazy.
I had my first experience as a child at The Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, TX. We were there eating and I wanted to play with this little boy and his dog, but my mom insisted there was no boy or dog. I got somewhat belligerent and my mom and dad got somewhat angry.
If you google the hotel you can find stories about the boy. It was years later before I heard about the hauntings and the little boy. When I first heard about him, I knew right then and there I did see that boy.
I used to tell Don about Ricky, my friend that died several years ago who pops in every now and then to visit. I'm not sure if Don thought I was nuts or not (well I am a little anyway) until the day we were driving into Seattle for my very first shot for my HCV treatment. I was somewhat nervous on the way in, it being a form of chemo and all the possible side effects. Our radio started acting up and I told him that Ricky was there with us. I had previously told don that Ricky jacks with radios, tv's and other electrical items. After a few minutes of the radio going off and on I just said "Ricky g-ddamnit I'm nervous enough and I don't need you effin with the radio" The radio was ok after that and Don was like
From that point on when something weird electrical happens Don just looks at me and asks "Ricky?" Sometimes it's him, sometimes it's not. I just know when it's him.

Not really a ghost story, but a spirit coming to Doc in his dreams. Doc's dad died and he comes to Doc in his dreams, the strangest one was that his dad was driving in a convertible, and Doc sees him on the street, and he says Dad what are you doing here, and I am so happy to see you here, his Dad says he has something to do and seems troubled, he tells Doc he has to find his Aunt Sis, he needs to pick her up in the car, a week later, his Aunt Sis died
. He has had a few other dreams, but that one is really weird.... we always say don't tell us if he comes looking for us.

Tom and I stayed in an old hotel in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where there was a horrible crashing noise in our room. It sounded like a chandelier fell. We got up and checked the room and nothing was out of place.
A year later, we read about haunted places in Michigan and that hotel was listed and there were several people who had stories about what had happened to them there.
I used to think people who talked about stuff like that were gullible or mistaken. I don't judge too quickly anymore....

Not necessarily just one episode, but hearing about a number of things that happened to people and deciding there was more around us than what we see with our eyes. For instance, I never liked seances or ouija boards as a kid; it always seemed like playing with fire...UpstateNYPH wrote:Until......?SchoolGirlHeart wrote:I didn't used to believe in them either...Skibo wrote:Many years ago, I visited England and stayed with a "friend". We hooked up with her friends who were very familiar with all the ghost haunts. If you dont want to share its ok
As an adult I've had a few weird things happen. Gettysburg Battlefield definitely has paranormal stuff going on... Once I was there alone, in February, after dark. I was at the top of Cemetery Ridge, where the Federal soldiers repelled Pickett's Charge. It had been raining and the ground was saturated. There wasn't another human being out there, but I could hear wet footsteps all around me. Also, I had loaded brand new batteries in my camera. I turned it on, got one picture, and the batteries were dead. I went back to the car, thinking I might get another couple of shots with the old batteries. It was February. The car was cold. The batteries had been sitting there for hours, but when I grabbed them they were hot... Almost too hot to touch.... I put those old, "dead" batteries back in the camera and took about 40 pictures.
Last summer at Gettysburg three of us were near the Virginia and North Carolina monuments, where the Confederates formed up to charge Cemetery Ridge. All three of us heard horses snorting, but there no horses in the area. Unexplainable...
Again at Gettysburg, last December, my almost-new camera malfunctioned. I have a whole series of sunset pictures that are completely out of order. Never happened before or since with that camera.
