We have been all over the place also. Best seats we have had were Section D second row two seats off the center isle. Great seats! Wife is 5' 5" and could see everything. If you get too far back on the floor I would see visibility being a problem. On the elevated areas I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. The MGM is a very small arena. 3 of the gals were around my wife height....couldn't see......We have had section 114...good view but far away...and FULL Price!!!! Our favorite seats have been the sections (not shown on my chart) U20 and U18...we have also had seats in U21 on the other side of the stage.....These are good Seats about 50' away with no one in front of you! Some of our best ever seats were in L13....when the eintire row infront of us didn't show up!!!! We have had the Double letter seats just off the floor one year...gereat seats...you have releif off the floor so you can see but close to the floor for the action!!!
If you can make them out, on my chart there are little rectangles....these are the sighting distances from the stage........The pink ring is at 25" from the center of the stage 5' back from the edge of the stage (approximatley where jimmy's mike is) The next yellow ring is at 50" and 100'The corners of the back of the audatorium between section 103 and 105 and 104 and 102 are 222' from the stage...the bottom row of L2 and L3 are at 150'....![]()

Hey guys! Miss you already. Having major post-concert depression after FFF II. I really want to come to Vegas. I'm searching now for a local victim to go with me. I'm also waiting to hear back from my new BFF from Montana. I met her at the NYLO and convinced her and her husband to show up at the tailgate. They had a blast. Hoping we can have a girl's weekend in Vegas. Where are you guys staying?D PHarmBoy wrote:Yep, we're doing Vegas once again. Got some great specials from Flamingo that run through September. Gotta hope for some good October ones too.
Where will The PHarms be staying?
Candyman:
The drive from San Diego to Las Vegas is not bad at all. It takes about 5 hours from the downtown San Diego area, of course that is not leaving during rush hour which starts getting crowded around 3:00 here on the local freeways! It is not a very scenic drive although if you have never been through a desert it is something new to see at least! You pretty much stay on one road the whole way!
Are you leaving for home from Las Vegas? The ride home to San Diego from Vegas is not bad unless you are planning to leave Sunday morning along with everyone else heading back to San Diego, OC, or LA. Then it is not a fun drive as it is a two lane road for a ways and everyone is trying to jockey around all the trucks and RV's that are slow going so it is definitely not a leisurely drive on the way back on a Sunday. We usually try to go back on a Monday to avoid that drive!
Where are you staying in San Diego? If you need any restaurant, hotel, what area to stay help, let me know. I used to live down there for about 7 years and now live about an hour north of there. That is great that you are heading to both shows....should be a fun time!!

Thank you. That was the info I was looking for. We are flying into San Diego & departing from Vegas. My wife and I thought an extra Buffett concert was a good excuse to visit SD for a couple of days. 5 hour drive doesn't sound too bad. I guess it will depend on the night before.Montauk wrote:Candyman:

We are staying at the Holiday Inn that is closest to the venue. We hope to make it to the Zoo during the day on Wednesday. Hope to make it to the Marinas in the afternoon. Any recommendations for a good casual dinner spot for Wednesday night? More importantly any recommendation on a good liquor store in the area!!!

Sounds like a great trip! If you are looking for something to do during the day or afternoon, go and walk around Pacific Beach, it is a great beach town with lots of fun little bars to pop into. Since it will be during the week, it will be pretty mellow since the weekends are pretty crazy! We lived there and loved it, very laid back! You can walk on the boardwalk right on the ocean and people watch. Hit up Lahaina's (Bar) right on the boardwalk. Good places in Pacific Beach to eat that are perfect for your San Diego experience are: Dinners -- the Green Flash or World Famous, both right on the boardwalk. Breakfast: Kono's...
Mexican: Taco Surf
Wherever you decide to go, make sure you get Mexican food while you are here. Not sure if you have been here before, but you won't find food like thsi anywhere else. (Here in the states I mean!) My husband and I are orginally from the East Coast and always say we would not survive without true Mexican food like what you find in Southern CA. Try to eat at a "fast food" type Mexican place for the most authentic! Again, if you need any other info. let me know...
The ride from the zoo to Pacific Beach is about 15 minutes. Really pretty drive, too, if you get off the freeway as if you are going to Sea World and go into Pacifc Beach from that way. If you need directions, let me know.
As for Liquor, etc...here in CA you can buy beer, wine, liquor in any supermarket...Ralph's, Vons, Albertson's.......Very easy to get!!

Well, it's official. Tickets bought! Thanks for all the seating info. I got section U20 and was concerned until I read someone thought those had been their best seats. I was able to locate 2 victims to go with me. Watch out, guys...I have 2 gorgeous, crazy, single female virgins accompanying me. I'll keep my BN badge on just to help you spot them. The pacific beach sounds perfect. I thought we were going for fresh sea food, but, sounds like Mexican is the way to go. Thank you for all the guidance, never been out to California so it'll be an adventure!!! I'm a little nervous a bout the drive from California to Vegas....Montauk wrote:Candyman --

If you get too far back on the floor I would see visibility being a problem. On the elevated areas I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. The MGM is a very small arena. I think it holds around 18,000.Dutch Harbor PH wrote:We have had seats all over the place.....Absolute favorites were the Floor section B, 10th row dead center( our seats were better than David Haselhoff's...)....Wifey-poo who is 5'-7" could see perfectly and it was AWESOME.......In the last 2 years we have had floor tickets in the 4th row of secion F on the inside aisle...again not bad at all (I'm 6' 2" so no biggie) wifey poo edged out into the aisle a little and had a great time......We also had Section D, 4th row on the outside aisle....Seas in my veins wrote:We are actually moving down this year, we were about 12 rows from the top straight on last year. This year were in U1 row R. I wouldn't do the floor if you couldn't get into the first few sections.pbans wrote:Looking at Dutch's floor plan, we were in the next to the last row of G last year.....
I'm 5'3" on a tall day.....and my other girlfriend is shorter than that....we watched on the jumbotron......we tried standing on our chairs, but the security/usher people would have none of that.....
We're in U1 this year and I'm delighted about that!
and ps, got an email from TM that our tickets have been printed.....I almost wish they'd wait to send them......that's a long time for me to keep track of something. Guess they'll go straight in to the safe!![]()

If you can make them out, on my chart there are little rectangles....these are the sighting distances from the stage........The pink ring is at 25" from the center of the stage 5' back from the edge of the stage (approximatley where jimmy's mike is) The next yellow ring is at 50" and 100'The corners of the back of the audatorium between section 103 and 105 and 104 and 102 are 222' from the stage...the bottom row of L2 and L3 are at 150'....![]()
above the the floor, there's hardly a bad view in the house.
The only thing I miss about floor seats was the conga lines that used to break out![]()
