I turned down front row at face value from the promoter at $275 a pop and ended up going only because a bartender I know won seats and didn't want them. I went in very excited because, well, it's The Police! So many great songs and I even loved a lot of Sting's solo albums.

The Police s***. This tour was everything that you fear about a reunion. The setlist was stagnant night after night and everything was choreographed right down to the guitarist accidentally staying on stage and demanding an encore. It was the most obvious money grab I've ever seen. Sting barely made eye contact with the rest of the band.

Worst concert I've seen in many years. Skip this tour.
CJ, you hit the nail right on the head! :-? :-? :-?
I was so disgusted in this show that I didn't even hang around for the encores.
Sting looked and sounded completely disinterested (almost every song broken with a "YAAAY-YOHHHH", whether it fit or not!)
and while Stewart Copeland was his high-energy self, Andy Summers was lagging, totally out of his league.
The songs played were slowed in tempo considerably, and it just accentuated their older age.
Sting knows he's doing this to make some money for the other two lads.

This, for myself too, was the poorest show I've seen in some time,
if not saved by a TERRIFIC opening set by Elvis Costello and The Imposters who played with all the verve and swagger of 30 years ago. 8)

This will be interesting as I'm seeing them at Great Woods soon. I've caught them twice on this tour already and I thought both of those shows were fantastic. I wonder if they are just going through the motions in the last few months of their tour?

I saw them back in the 80's on the Amenesty Internation tour 1986. It was a pretty decent set they put on...that being said.

I heard they were putting on a good show. A buddy of mine saw them and said they were fabulous. He said Elvis Costello (who was the opening act) was really good also...

I think it would make more sense to buy their boxed set and sit in your back yard. Who can afford the tickets anymore.

:o :o Wow.. Honestly if that was mailed in...
I could not have survived a "full Force" show..
from the first song.. (Message in a Bottle)
to the last one.. :) :) ( one I did not know..)
I was up and Dancing..
I really thought it was well done..
was the setlist preset?? yep..
But I know with the lighting and Video stuff
it had to be.. ( that stuff is all pre set, no more on the fly)
Stewart Copeland had a blast!!
Yeah the Last encore was done.. but they did play two.. 8)
I would do it all over again if I had the chance..

BTW.. I did notice that " Don't Stand so Close"
was dialed back some..
But "Walking on the Moon" was off the hook..
(no it is not my favorite)

Went to the Police show at Great Woods on Thursday. Nice show...I think they did well compared to some of the other reviews from previous shows in this thread. Costello was great as well.

Here is a review from the Boston Globe for anybody interested...
