i don't know how badly you've been waiting to see 'em, Wayne.

But, if you can make it down to the SD show at Coors on Memorial Day 5/26
I can assure you you'll have a great time partying with us! 8) :D :pirate:

Let's see, seeing the Police at the USANA amphitheater when it is 105 and only watered down beer to drink (in very limited quantity at that), plus the potential for big dry thunderstorms. Hmmm, I think I would skip it. OH, Wait, what's that? I am skipping it. :D

If it helps any, I had never seen the Police back in the day so when they played the Garden last year I went to one of the shows. One of the best concerts I went to last year.

This past November, I was lucky enough to get a pair of tickets last minute to see them in AC (at Boardwalk hall where Jimmy will be this August). I had side view seats, and was a bit worried about the view and sound. Let me tell you ...... it was one of the top 5 concerts I have ever seen ... and I have seen a lot. They were incredible. The fact that such powerful music can come from just 3 musicians is just crazy. And STING .... damn. Where he gets his energy and power is beyond me. And their set list was AWESOME. I heard every song of theirs I wanted to hear, including an amazing version of King of Pain in the encore. I am searching right now for reasonable seats to see them in Phily this summer (a show they are having to make up for the one that was postponed last November). If you like their music, I would say TAKE THE DRIVE! You will not regret it.
Just my 2 cents.

I guess I would be the exception...
Saw them at Wrigley last summer... not one of the worst shows I have been too... but certainly overrated.

The arrangements of their songs are different, and they are so "going through the motions". They had no stage presence.

For the price, and the hype I guess I expected a little more effort.

I agree somewhat with MDown. I saw them last year at Fenway and the show for the most part was alright. The first 2/3 it seemed like they were going through the motions but the last third was great as they had kicked it up a notch. I wish the entire show had been like the last part. I have heard that the recent shows have been really good. I had the chance to see them again this summer and passed mostyl due to the ticket prices.

hmmmm. hubby and i went last year at pepsi center. we enjoyed ourselves, but it wasn't earth shattering.

they are playing at red rocks this summer and we're skipping it. i wish we would have skipped last year to see them at RR (and elvis costello is playing, too), but oh well.

if you want to see the police play police songs, then you will enjoy it. it's a bit mellower than how some of the tracks were originally released.

I saw them twice on the Synchonicity tour. I was a huge Police fan then.

I had to see them when they came around again. I loved the show (even though the sound was not very good where I was in CBP). I'll admit my enthusiasm was based on hearing all those great songs live again.

I'd go again...but the prices are getting out of hand.

I've seen them twice in the past year. I'm going again this summer. Fantastic show. I agree with Larry...might have been the best show I saw last year. GO!

I guess I get to be the one who saw them back in the day. I've seen the Police 4 times. Once in a small bar and then 3 times over the years in various stadiums. I can't say that they were very good the first time I saw them. Two albums and several hundred shows later they put on a passable show. The next two shows were fun because of the people I went with, not because of the Police.

I guess it all depends on your tastes and your budget. To me, they have priced themselves out of my ballpark. I would rather give my money to Jimmy. That's just me though.

Tickets are too expensive for USANA........

It would, however, be worth the five hour drive to see ME!

Saw this tour when it hit Hawaii a few months back. I turned down front row at face value from the promoter at $275 a pop and ended up going only because a bartender I know won seats and didn't want them. I went in very excited because, well, it's The Police! So many great songs and I even loved a lot of Sting's solo albums.

The Police s***. This tour was everything that you fear about a reunion. The setlist was stagnant night after night and everything was choreographed right down to the guitarist accidentally staying on stage and demanding an encore. It was the most obvious money grab I've ever seen. Sting barely made eye contact with the rest of the band.

Worst concert I've seen in many years. Skip this tour.
