The pre party will be on a closed off side street right next to Margaritaville. It is lots of fun. There is a margarita/Landshark stand and a table with Jimmy's margaritaville shrimp, souvenirs and other stuff. There is live music and you can meet fellow BNers and wander back and forth between the street party and Margaritaville. Last year we hung out on the top floor bar most of the day. See you there

It used to be absolutely grand (pun sorta intended). The street party next to Margaritaville is always great and MGM used to have a nice party after that, but they've steadily been declining (This will be our 5th Vegas show coming up). The party used to be at the MGM theme park, which was fun, then when they closed that they moved it to the pool, which was ok and last year, they moved it to an alley parking lot which was abysmal. Most folks that I was with moved inside to the casino for drinks rather than stay out there. Hoping it'll be better this year.
Don't be discouraged, tho - Jimmy in Vegas is always a fun time, no matter what!

The margaritaville street party was much better last year...I think in part due to more people figuring it out.....I miss the old theme park....I too heard that the MGM parking lot party was lame and glad we didn't go there....so for us last year it was the Margaritville street party, back to take a quik nap and....!!!!! Holy Crap batman!!!!!! Wake up the shows about to start!!!!!! AAAAArrrrggghhh.....whew....got there just as Hot Hot Hot was starting........
Oh and don't forget....There was the Nadira show at Margaritaville on Friday night last year....awesome!!! The year before it was the Mac show on Friday night.....

Dutchy, you hopping over to the other side? *sigh* Last year was my first year for Jimmy in Vegas...but by all means, not my first time in Vegas! I loved the street party.... Drank from about 11:30am until 11pm, felt fine the next morning! NO NAP!!! You old(er) people.
I hope to catch the music at Margaritaville on Friday night (this is the 10/18 show weekend)... You all enjoy the second show!

Silly Karat.......We're going to the 10-18-08 show too..... Oh well......getin' old is a B----!!!!! Deb had a broken ankle and by Las Vegas 2 last year it had been a LooooonnnnnGggggg Week!....Santa Barbara, Las Vegas 1, San Diego and then finally Las Vegas 2.....We were tired!!!!

There are some minor details to be worked out - plane ticket, hotel reservation, time off work. The only thing I'm not worried about is a concert ticket, they're always easy to find in Vegas.
