The Eagles are coming to NY the end of May, does anyone know about if they have an opening act or not? I haven't seen anything online.
Thanks!

I would think that they wouldn't need one. With the size of their catalog, I would rather hear them play 2.5-3 hours instead of having an opener.

I'd agree, but the Dixie Chicks opened for them out in Cali to open that stadium out there . . .

I can't find anything specific about an opening act, however there is a lot of information regarding future dates on this website.

Just found out the free tickets I won are on the lawn, if I'd known that I'd have bought real tickets when they went on sale.

Yeah, I wish he was still with them. Last time I saw the Eagles was during the Hotel California tour.

Anyone catch a show yet? If so, what did you think?
We're going to see them July 22 in Toronto.

Going to see em July 28th and 30th in Boston. They were so good on the last tour, couldn't resist going to both shows this year.

I saw them in London in March - they were absolutely awesome.
No opening act that night.

I saw the Eagles tribute band "Hotel California" at a free concert a couple weeks ago. Drummer did a very good Don Henley imitation. If you enjoy the Eagles but don't have the $$$ to see them keep an eye out for this group!

... Didn't I pay $175 a couple of years ago to see their "farewell tour"...

The show at the Garden was a little flat. Good show, don't gt me wrong, but it could have used a little more life. Too mant songs off the new record.
Plus, some may be annoyed with the politcal content. To a certain extent it's to be expected, but the images flashing on the background screen to support Dirty Laundry, basically comparing Bill O'Rielly with Jerry Springer are a bit much.
The second set was very Joe Walsh heavy (good, especially considering how the second set started) but I was surprised they didn't do any Glenn Frey solo stuff. Here's the setlist:
1. How Long
2. Too Busy Being Fabulous
3. I Don't Want To Hear Anymore
4. Guilty of the Crime
5. Hotel California
6. Peaceful Easy Feeling
7. I Can't Tell You Why
8. Witchy Woman
9. Lyin' Eyes
10. Boys of Summer (excellent, as usual)
11. In The City (ditto!)
12. The Long Run
Intermission
13. No More Walks In The Woods (boring . . .)
14. Waiting In The Weeds
15, No More Cloudy Days
16. Love Will Keep Us Alive
17. Take It To The Limit
18. Long Road Out of Eden (I wasn't impressed)
19. Somebody
20. Walk Away (excellent song, big surprise to me!)
21. One of These Nights
22. Life's Been Good
23. Dirty Laundry
24. Funk 49
25. Heartache Tonight
26. Life In The Fast Lane
First Encore
27. Rocky Mountain Way
28. All She Wants To Do Is Dance
Second Encore
29. Take It Easy
30. Desperado

Thanks for posting the set list! Sounds great.
Sorry you didn't like so many songs off the new album, but it is the Long Road Out Of Eden tour.... and it is a double album! I think its fabulous.

If you are looking for a great Eagles experience, then I would recommend the DVD of their "Farewell Tour".
Sound quality rocks, and if you have 5.1 or 7.1 you are in for a treat.

I was a little surprised whenever Don Felder said that Don Henley and Glenn Frey are the only 2 "Official" Eagle's members. He said everyone else in the band is just a paid employee.

Henley & Frey are the only two ORIGINAL members of the band.
(Bernie Leadon & Randy Meisner having both left the band by the end of the Hotel California tour; being replaced by Joe Walsh & Timmy Schmit respectively.)
Felder is a talented musician, but he's also bitter and has a way of phrasing things from a negative point of view.
I'm sure he still gets a significant Eagles paycheck.
