Yup. It's pretty common.

Had mine out when i was five (33 years ago.) Don't think I 've had strep since. :D

Had mine out when I was 29...HORRIBLE! :(
Was having recurrent strep infections and that did solve it, but I wouldn't recommend it as an adult!
None of my kids ever had to have them out- so I have no experience on that level.... plenty of it with tubes in the ears, though. Three had those & they worked like a charm for the constant ear infections.

Good luck!!

Things have changed since the dark ages
Hospitals have been invented.

Sorry can't be much more help. I prolly should have had my tonsils removed as a kid. I get strep throat a few times a year. As an adult, it is really sucky.

Hubby had his adenoids removed as a kid, but he doesn't really remember.

My best mom advice would be soft foods and TLC.

I'm totally avoiding that conversation with my doctor. Mine probably should come out. Although, I could certainly live without the strep infections!

Wow---what a concept [smilie=battingeyes.gif] :P

It was back in the day when nurses wore white starched caps and starched white dresses :P

My mom was a nurse back in the day. She still has her old nursing uniform that was like that.

My wife's a nurse NOW. No caps, no white starched anything. Seems like they all just wear scrubs, which aren't much better than glorified pajamas. Don't exactly inspire thoughts of confidence or "clean/sterile."

Truth is, convenience store clerks where I stop for gas dress nicer and look more professional than most nurses nowadays.
