Feeling great.....my exercise has been a little lacking this week....I let the weather be my excuse.
I do move a lot at work.....so I know I burn calories....but just not getting the cardio that I need.
Picked up a set of resistance bands and have started working with them.....a stability ball, too. Damn dogs think it's a play toy whenever I bring it out, though......

awesome work paigey!! i hope you are still feeling great!!!!
i'm manging to beat my distance each night in my 20 mins on the treadmill, and always breaking a mile (i remember the days in jr. hi. when i ran a 6:30 mile

).
realized this week somewhere deep inside me, my abs actually have muscles.

do it, also go to a running store where you can actually try them out before you buy them. Plus many of the people that work in the stores are runners themselves and can point you to the right shoe.

i need a touch more arch support and wider. it's nearly impossible to find double-wide athletic shoes at traditional shoe stores

but i get pinky-toe-tinglies if i push off the outside of my foot too much.

then do it for sure you do not want to cause any harm to your body by changing your way of running because of your shoe.

I need a wide toe and narrow heel....both Saucony and Rikas work for me and New Balance has sizes that come in wide widths. Maybe try those brands. You know you've got a good running shoe salesman if he looks at the sole of your current shoe to see how you wear them down before recommending a pair.

There are two things that help me fall of the wagon of healthy living: working long hours and being sick. Sadly, both happened this week. I like to drown my stress in food.
Luckily today, I am feeling better. I was able to get out this morning and run 6 miles. I've been good with the food today as well.

One thing I heard somewhere was instead of looking at food situations as as a chance you might fall off the wagon, look at each eating opportunity as a chance to make the best eating choice possible.
Seriously, after quitting smoking, everything is a mental challenge and it's all about retraining your mind to make good food choices.
Easy to say. Hard to do.

So my dad who's 82 and can't stand to pass up a bargain at the day old bread rack at the market just stopped by and dropped off 3 containers, ones full of HUGE chocolate chunk cookies, ones apple turnovers and the thirds croissants. THIS IS A TEST OF MY WILLPOWER. I said, "Dad, I don't eat white flour or sugar!" "It's for the grandchildren!" he said. Okay, this is JUST A TEST! I can control myself. Last night, when I got home from a uke jam, my wonderful husband tried to hand me a package of Reeses peanut butter cups. I just looked at him......tick, tick, tick....."oh yea, you don't eat that anymore." I have been trying to not consume that crap for over a year! NO DUH! TEST, TEST, TEST.....everyones testing my willpower.....

Got a new tattoo last Friday.....it's on my right forearm....so I look at it with every spoonful of food.....it's a reminder to "stay on course".....of course, the nautical inspiration was in keeping with some of my musical passions as well!
