I have heard the reference of it being a race, not a sprint. Can't wait for the 68 days to be a sloth as well!BeachBumJim wrote:Very encouraging thread right here.
Congrats on the accomplishments and healthy news from your Dr.'s
Got to the Y 4 times this week. 2 days with weights and cardio, 2 days soley cardio.
Still weigh too much and the belly fat is like play-doh.
Oh well...aint gonna get any better anytime soon...especially after sloth and indolence next weekend for the Tampa show.

Spring has finally hit Maine. It is becoming more and more apparent that the dogs can't keep up with me on the walks. Poor kids!

10,000+ and relaxing with DWTS!! Great music tonight. Love this show.
Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Went to play golf today at a course near Austin called Teravista. Got my 10,000+ steps done, but shot a disappointing 99!!
Yawn...

How'd you do on the back 9?
Hoist up the mainsail...add a little BAM to the ginger ale...

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
It was such a beautiful course and the greens were so lush...unlike the ones I am used to playing on that putt like putting on glass.
Enjoyed a fairly healthy chicken dish at TGIFridays. The Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum Dipping Sauce was wonderful.
Hope everyone is having a beautiful, energizing day. It is GREAT here!
Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Only 4,975 STEPS for me on Wednesday...I forgot my pedo while grocery shopping and running errands.
Gotta work on it MORE today!

Got the 10,000+ done today. Visited my dad and we traipsed all over the cemetery getting ready for cemetery decoration.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Thanks, Nancy! I will certainly present myself at Frisco with a little less than I did at Vegas last October...it's just amazing the weight/size ratio thing. Wish I would have measured myself before I started. I try not to think of the scale. I'm not 21 and 110# anymore; at least my clothes are falling off and it's not just because of tequila!

Good going Michele...Think I might do the measure thing.. thanks for the reminder!!
I did my 10,000 steps each day for the 1st week of wearing the new pedometer!!! It's funny how about 10:30 I have to get up and run around the house to finish off the last 500 or so!!
Thanks Nancy for getting me back on the walking track!!

Many days I am spending the last part of the day getting those last steps in, eventhough I try to start early.
Already got my 10,000+ today with a 3 mile walk and then I played YARDENER!!
It's time for relaxing with a CORONA now!! I think I deserve a "gold crown."
Actually gotta go work on the deck now and get ready for the first "Doin' it on the Deck" Buffett concert of the WTF L'tour tomorrow evening.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
We had a great run this morning. My brother in law was telling me it's the largest 4 mile run in the country, I heard on the news there were 11,000+ runners. It was the biggest one I've been apart of, and it was crowded. The roads were closed down at least four lanes most of the way and I spent a lot of time running through the grass and sidewalks.
I did it in just over 35 minutes, that's the pace I was hoping to go for and I did it.
The real fun was on the ride home, we got into a minor car accident, everyone was fine physically. The Moms' nerves were a little shaky and my brother in law, who was driving my Mom's car, his ego was a little bruised. All in all an exciting day.

I've taken a lot of pictures, but that last one, I think it could be one people get a chuckle out for a while.

Congrats, Johnson! That's awesome...I need to do another race this year. I really loved the three I did last year.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Thanks, I didn't do one all of last year, getting out there really makes me want to keep doing them. I would recommend it for anyone. There were all kinds of people, old, young, one woman was carried a newborn, kids were running like crazy. People every bit as big as I used to be did it. It's great.Landshark Girl wrote:Congrats, Johnson! That's awesome...I need to do another race this year. I really loved the three I did last year.
A lot of my old friends from high school are doing it. A girl I went to high school with added me on facebook a couple of weeks ago. I had forgotten we were in one class my senior year, she's a year younger than me. I'm walking through this mob of people trying to track down my sister and there's this girl coming in right behind me, I think she must be stalking.
