You may want to read the label very close. It did say at one point that you should make sure to carry a spare set of clothes with you when taking. This was a strong point for me in not buying it.

Starting to get back to exercise on monday. Glad to see everyone here and eager to go. Grass skirts and coconut bras....look out....here we come!! :wench: [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]
This might be a good read...

After reading that, seems to me if we all just cut out fat gram intake back to 15 grams a day we'd lose weight.....why bother with the Alli.
Well, duh, but I can tell you the fear of sharting would make me work that much harder at paying attention to my fat intake.
All of the above is why the Ali starter kit is still setting on my shelf
I have done everything from succesfull stent with weight watchers to phenPhen. I lost 50 on WW and kept it mostly off for over 15 years (with a little help from *********** from time to tome over the years, taken in a very controlled senario) but over the past 5 years I have let the weight sneek back up on me and gained 40 pounds back. Time for extreme measure......I just have not figured out what they are yet.......Don and I have started exerciseing some but I need to get some WILL POWER!

That's what were all here for....will power and support. I promise to post everyday and really try to stay on task, eating healthier and moving more. I will try and support each of you. I think a support group like this is the first step (after committing to ourselves) and posting here everyday really helped me last summer. Every time I wanted to over indulge, I knew I would have to post that DONUT on my daily intake to all of you, and that really helped keep me on track. When I fell off the wagon, I disappeared from this thread. If I do that again, someone please find me on another thread and give me hell. I need all of you and I will be here to help you when you need it. Doing this alone is terrible, we need each other. Here's to a happier and healthier 2009!

Your weight story sounds a lot like mine!
I've been overweight to some degree or another for as long as I can remember. The doctor put me on Weight Watchers for the first time at eleven years old......
I seriously think I've done every stupid (and not so stupid program) that has come along....Jenny Craig, Diet Center, WW, Gloria Marshall (remember that?), LA Diet Center, Phen-fen.....I've gained and lost my own body weight more times than I care to count.
It wasn't until it started effecting more than my appearance that I took more drastic measures. I was borderline diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, constant joint pain.....I was taking four different prescription medications and OTC stuff constantly.....and all at the ripe old age of 46!
I'm down 70 pounds now.....still 30 or so to go, but I cannot begin to describe how much better I feel. I knew my joints hurt, but I didn't realize how much the extra weight effected EVERY other aspect of my life.
It's hard.....but it's sooooooooo worth it.

Thanks........I am going to try to get with the program.....whatever that may be...first by just getting back to eating less! Fortunately I have faced any of the Health effect except for starting to get a lot more indigestion and I know for me that is weight related. Blood pressure and such is still good but I do have a family history of diabetes so I need to keep that in mind. One thing I need to change is COOK more........we eat out most every night and even though it is possible to eat out healthy it is a lot easier to make bad choices.
I definately cook healthier.
I wish every one the best of luck in this journey.......I enjoy reading the sucess of so many it is encouraging!

:o :o :o OMG!! I have been laughing for at least 15 minutes now after reading this!! Have copied to send to my mother because she keeps talking about taking this and I keep telling her I wouldn't. Think this may make it more clear for her. Also, in reference to wanting to cook more at home and less eating out. I started using meals from a company called "Homemade Gourmet" on a more regular basis this year because I really needed to find something I could make quick and save some money and not be doing fast food as much with my kids from one activity to the next. They have some great meals stuff that you can make up all at once, put in the freezer and then get it out to cook in no time. Alot of using crock pots but I have also heated in the oven and on stovetop. I am a picky eater and with 3 boys I needed something that everyone would enjoy. So far they really love the meals. We don't use them everynight but it really helps with time saving and I also find it helps me watch my portion size. Alot of the meals are set up so you have leftovers and can use them for a second different meal. I know they have stuff for various dietary needs as well. Might be worth checking out for some.
Starting exercising in the morning.........deep breath. Have to stick with it this time. :wench:

Bought a scale, weighed myself last night: 256.

Weighed myself this morning: 260.

I'm gaining weight even while I sleep.

Oh well. Five days no smoking. Set my schedule for the week. i got four days at the gym plus a day skiing.

Today's menu: Green Tea, slice of cantelope, banana or two, yogurt, apple, some form of salad, chicken/rice/vegetable stir fry.

Just gotta make sure I don't graze while at work.
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.

Damn, you people get up early. Well here we go kids. Whooo-Hooo! Don't know what I'm going to eat, yet, it's only 7:AM here. Gotta get into the doc today and see WTF is up with my GERD. Will report back later.

Everyone have a great day, and if you screw up, don't sweat it, just get back on the horse and move forward. Just remember....Eat Less, Move More, it's that simple. I call it the ELMM diet.

Barefoot Gypsy, SRKMRD, BuffettBride, CarolinaGirl, Nutmeg, Pbans, PopcornJack, Tikitatas, SonofaBeach? Are we all here? And who am I missing? I will be taking roll, and there will be a quiz later :D Just kidding. Let me know if I missed anyone. I love you guys. Thanks for the support.

Congrats on not smoking. I'd rather lose weight than quit smoking again. It's the hardest thing I've ever ever ever ever ever done. Don't sell yourself short on those 5 days. Regardless of your weight, that's a HUGE feat. Keep it up.

Wow! I am so impressed with everyone checking in today and sharing eating plans and even scale results. :o

I'm going to have to work hard to keep up.

For breakfast I had Raisin Nut Bran with skim milk. Black coffee. I have skipped my customary chocolate Silk, which I LOVE in my coffee, because it makes it taste like cappuccino. But starting the day with chocolate adds to my craving for more sweets all day, so it's gone. I didn't use it all last week on vacation, so I'm continuing to do without even with the Silk right there in the fridge. This is my major pat on the back accomplishment for today.

Weighed in this a.m.: 216.2 lbs Same thing I weighed on Dec. 24, but I lost down to 212.8 before vacation started a week ago.

Doc can't fit me in today. I have an appointment for tomorrow at 11:00.

Hey, for those of us that are Oprah fans, this might be a good week for us to watch her. She's doing a whole week about falling off the wagon, and her food coach Bob Green will be there. Can't hurt to get encouragement from anywhere you can find it.
