So those of you that have been there before do you recommend renting a car?
Not sure. We may rent a car for a day. Most of the hotels charge a fortune to park at car at their places.
Pet Peeve Alert - I HATE having to spend so much money on parking privileges

Greg - Last time we were in Honolulu, we took the "Circle Tour" and found it very informative and fun. It was about 8 hours long and we were picked up at a local hotel.

Dang, the really nice gravey train at work ended today. I was hoping it would last at least another week or two. So now I am back to hotshotting and unpredictable pay at work. Still going planning on going to Hawaii at least!! :)

Good Morning All, I'm new here, so please forgive me in advance for screwing anything up since this is my first post to ANY board.

We (o.k., I) have decided that this is going to be the year to see how many shows we can attend. Already have Honolulu, Cincy, and Indianapolis (Noblesville) tickets. Waiting for MGM to go onsale.

We are staying at the Beachcomber and already have tickets to Jake's show on Friday. We are thinking about the party at the Elks. Anyone else planning on going? Do you just get tickets from their website?

We have never been to Hawaii before, so any help would be greatly appreciated. It looks like Duke's is right across the street from the Beachcomber, does anyone know if this is correct?

BTW, 426 Hours, 45 minutes until our flight leaves!!!! Can't wait!!!!
The next time you get mad, ask yourself the following question. Will it will matter a year from now?
If it won't, breathe in, breathe out and move on. Life is short, remember to have fun along the way.

Yes, Dukes is part of the Outrigger on the Beach and is directly across the street from the new restuarant.

Indiana PH:

Everything in Waikiki is a pretty short walk, and at the Beachcomber you are centrally located. Yes Dukes is right across the street, and better yet JB's restaurant is right in the Beachcomber, very nice place. The Shell is located about 6 blocks away and through the park, so maybe about a 10- 15 walk, I've never really timed it!

The Elks is located very near the Shell, so just a short walk too the show. It is a very scenic beachfront location with plenty of room to party, last time we had over 300 Pholks. We will be having some great live TropRock music, something that is kind of hard to find elsewhere here in Hawaii. Also have a great deal on draft beer and Mai Tai's at $2, which is very reasonable for Waikiki Most places are $5-$10 for drinks!!! Our charities this year are "Dogs for Wounded Warriors Program" , and "Hawaii Food Bank", so bring a can of food and get a free raffle ticket.

I'm only going to have a day or so anyway... Jimmy's going to occupy most of my time on Saturday and Friday is likely Jake's show.....

BTW Nutmeg, did you sign up for the private party? I think I did but I haven't heard from Mitch on how I was supposed to pay for it????
I got another e-mail from him. He said they are going to be getting in touch with everyone who is signed up for the party shortly.

I seem to recall that he said guests had to be named at the time the member made reservations for the party. I just sent him an email so hopefully I'll hear back from him soon.
