I have my ticket for Jake's party as well...and I DONT agree with the "newbie's" estimation of the music (but whatever floats his boat I guess ).

The hardest part of going to Hawaii is going to be figuring out what to do once I get there.... anyone want to meet up someplace for drinks and dinner?

Flying in on Thursday afternoon, Flying out on Sunday Night :)

Wow! That was an "interesting" first post.

We are going to Jake's party. (unlike PPH I LOVE to hear Jake play)

We plan on doing the Elks club party before and the Beachcomber after the concert.

Well put Dutch.

Jason I want to apologize, because before I started asking questions there was no reference to you working at the restaurant. For the record, from what I have seen, Jason wasn't going to mention the fact that he worked at the restaurant, even after I directly asked him, someone else confirmed it. I hope that you accept my apology.

All I was trying to do was get an idea of places to party before and after the concert, especially since we are staying at the Beachcomber. Since we are only going to be in Hawaii for a short time, I wanted to make sure that we made the best choices possible so that we can meet as many Parrottheads and possible and see as much of the area as possible. Thank you to all of the people that have given us information to help make our choices.

As far as I can tell, there will be a lot of partying going (as there should be) and everybody should be able to find something that they enjoy.

On a happy note, 331 Hours 57 Minutes until our flight leaves, 368 hours 57 minutes until the concert.

Well, it looks like there are a lot of first time posts for Hawaii, so, after a long time of looking in from outside the fish bowl, I decided to jump in.

My wife and I will be leaving one week from today to head on from Tallahassee, FL. Staying 9 days- figured if we are going, why not do it right. In fact, one week from now, we will already be in the air. Looking forward to trying to catch up with the different groups. Between Jake's party at the Beachcomber, the Elks Lodge and post party at the Beachcomber, we should bump into quite a few of you. By the way, it looks like Jake is playing a free concert at the Embassy Suites Hotel Grand Lanai on Sunday, February 22nd at 4:00pm, so we may try to make that also. For the first few days, we are renting a studio apartment in Kailua that's right on the beach. Then, we will be moving to the Sheraton Waikiki to be in the heart of all the action. Hope to meet everyone.

All those BN Pholks interested in a Luau, Paradise Cove is definitely the best one on the island. The weblink is http://www.paradisecovehawaii.com/ and their local number is 808-842-5911. We have several of our club members that sailboats and would be willing to do some sailing trips. It's a great time of year for this with all the humpbacks in the islands..... Probably the best day for the sailing would be on Friday the 27th. We are located out at KoOlina which just also happens to be where the Paradise Cove Luau is located. I also have a 33ft Sportfisher, so could take a small group out fishing or cruising that day, would just ask for help with fuel, ice ect.... Let me know if you are interested and we'll start a list, first come first serve.

Aloha,

This sounds awesome!!! I think that we would (four of us) be interested, problem is that we don't get in until Friday afternoon. We aren't leaving until 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday though if there are any other days available. We are scheduled to rent bikes on Monday and cruise around the island, but that can be changed. Another question is how to get from Waikiki to the marina. We won't have a car. I guess we could rent one or plan to get the bikes the day we would meet up with you depending on how long the cruise is and what time you would need to set sail. Please let me know if there is another day that may work. Thanks for the offer.

Sunday morning might work for the Sailing as well, and maybe even Mon,Tue since one of our Sailboat owners is retired... As far as the fishing Friday is really the only day that works for me, I work Thursday, will be getting ready for the Elks party Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon we are doing a post party out at one of our members bars out on Hawaii Kai Marina. If anyone is interested she is looking at doing a bus trip from Waikiki out to her place ChaCha's later Sunday afternoon, for a minimal fee....probably like $5 roundtrip. Great ParrotHead establishment, on the water with some fantastic live music. If interested let us know so we can start getting a list together.

So much to do, so little time. I wonder if my boss will miss me if I don't come back until June?

Hubby and I would also love to go out on boat, but don't sail or fish.

Have any plans been thought about for a BN meet (not meat) up? Or just run into each other at Jake's party, Beachcomber or Elks?

Will be on Oahu Sunday eve through following Mon.

Just wanted to say that we are not going to Hawaii, but we have had the pleasure of meeting Jason and he is a stand-up guy. He embraces the Buffett spirit and anyone would be very lucky to enjoy any function that he has been a part of. For all of you going we hope you have a great time and have an incommunicado for my wife.
