Rehearsals for the 2008 Tour

Post by phjim »

Rehearsals have been going on the past few days for Jimmy Buffett's upcoming "The Year of Still Here" 2008 tour. Radio Margaritaville DJ Kirsten has been periodically calling into the station with updates from the rehearsals. Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band have been rehearsing in an unspecified location.

Kirsten named a few of the songs that she has heard during the rehearsals:
Migration
Landfall
Ragtop Day
Homemade Music
Tiki Bar is Open
Fruitcakes
Cowboy in the Jungle
Rainy Day Women #12 and 35
Stars on the Water
Mexico
Gulf Coast Highway

Jimmy,
Please don't drop Cowboy in the jungle. This is a classic that I can't wait to hear live in Raleigh. Listen for the loudest singer, that will be me.
From reality I just can't drift, that's why I'm stayin with this rift

If Jimmy leaves Migration, Landfall and Cowboy on the core setlist for all shows this year, there will be a lot of extremely happy parrotheads this tour! And afterall, we're all still here too!

And feel free to drop Tin Cup Chalice in there as often as possible too Jimmy

Yep. Actually, he played Stars on the Water last summer in Chicago and it wasn't raining.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

The tentative set list almost makes me want to spend more money then I have to see the show. :P I am glad that there's Radio Margaritaville to help ease the checkbook, eh? 8) The tour sounds like it's gonna be a great one. :pirate: :pirate:

I like surprises too, but just seeing COWBOY IN THE JUNGLE was on the list literally made me jump up and down. Jimmy, please, please, please put it on the set list for either Charlotte or Cincy or both. Just hearing it live would be awesome. This song is the reason I have a Southern Cross tattoo. Woohoo!! :D

Here is a statement about changing RUSH show to Saturday...

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... emID=95132

RUSH has announced that two of the tour dates on this year's continuation of the Snakes & Arrows tour will be switched. The New Orleans date scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at the New Orleans Arena will be moved to Sunday, April 20 at the same venue. The Houston date originally scheduled for Sunday, April 20 will be held on Saturday, April 19 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The reason: The New Orleans Hornets have clinched their first playoff berth in four years and will play their first playoff game at the New Orleans Arena on Saturday, April 19, the same night that RUSH was scheduled to perform.

I'll take anything he wants to play as long as he is still touring :D

this is sounding like an awesome set list.....I think Rainy Day Women #12 and #35 is appropriate considering the date today 8) that is one cover I'm hoping to hear Thurs.night in St. Louis

I was all excited because when I first heard it on the radio I was thinking Rainy Day People...which is one of my favorite Gordon Lightfoot songs.

Rainy Day women #12 and 35 not so much....

Happy about Cowboy in the Jungle though..
