Just a Dollar

Post by ParrotheadKalee »

When I received this as an email and thought about the best way to get the word out, I knew the best place to go. You guys make miracles happen!

In the early afternoon of April 2nd, Brittany Sue Zimmermann, 21, was brutally murdered in her Madison, WI apartment. Her dream was to attend UW-Madison and go on to become a doctor. I work with Brittany's mother, Jean, and this, as you might imagine, has been an incredibly hard time for this family. Marshfield is a very small community where everyone knows everyone else, and their grief is our grief. Please help if you can. THANK YOU!

Karen

*Brittany, a Student at UW Madison was murdered, let's keep her memory
alive.*

*You can do it!!!*

*Just a Dollar* could be just the thing the Zimmermann family of Marshfield, WI needs. They lost their daughter, Brittany, on April 2, 2008.
She was violently murdered in her apartment in Madison, WI, where she was a pre-med student at UW Madison.

Their grief is overwhelming. In an effort to create something positive of this tragedy, they are attempting to honor her strong commitment to education by establishing a scholarship fund, "Dollars for Brittany." Show the Zimmermann's they are in your thoughts. Send "just a dollar" to *Dollars for Brittany* c/o Marshfield Medical Center Credit Union* in Marshfield, WI. Please print the initials *J.A.D*. on the bottom of the envelope. Be sure to include your city and state. You may include your name if you would like to. Our goal is to show the Zimmermann's that individuals in every city and state in the United States cares enough to send "just a dollar." Please forward this email to everyone in your mailbox.

Thank you for your Dollars and your willingness to keep Brittany's memory alive.

Sincerely,
The Family of Brittany Zimmermann

Not as of yet. It is my understanding that there is a "person of interest," but nothing has come out of that thus far. They are still processing DNA samples through the crime lab.

I hope they find who did it soon!!
It is just heartbreaking....

Our thoughts go out to the family
Our dollar will be in the mail
first thing Monday.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out, and proclaiming,
“Wow, what a ride!!!”

Thank you so much Garry, gpblxbeach, and Wayne!

I know a dollar seems so small, but to this family it is huge. I think their focus on Brittany's scholarship fund and love and support from people who care are the ONLY things keeping them going...

Thank you, too, Jolena

Luckily I brought some dollars back with me after the Tampa trip, so one will be on its way from England tomorrow. As soon as I can get the correct stamp that is.

My thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

I'm so sorry, Wayne... didn't see your post until today.

:-? Still no word about finding who did this...

...and there was more sad news reported just a couple of days ago. Brittany placed a call to 911 before she was murdered, but the person who answered disconnected the call because they thought it was a prank/misdial. Nobody was sent. The people at the 911 call center reported it as a "hang up call," but the Madison Police Department, after reviewing the call, reported that there was enough evidence in that call that the PD should have been notified. :-?

Everyone's support means so much to this family, and I can't thank you enough. I just hope and pray that your compassion and generosity are returned tenfold.

what stinks about that is that there are
