This will be my first non-tailgate tailgate party. It's a pay-for-entry lot party much like the MGM party in Vegas (or so I've heard).
I like tailgating, because of all the different "booths" that people would set up behind their vehicles. I've seen belly-flop competitions, tire swings on A-frames, tiki bars, taste-testing competitions, all manner of outdoor cooking (shrimp, steak, burgers, gumbo, etc), Just all-in-all, a smorgasbord of different things to see and participate in.
For those of you with non-tailgate pre-concert party experience, what can we expect to find there as opposed to a traditional parking lot tailgate?
And more importantly, what would you recommend that we take with us to the party? I want to help make this fun for my family, too. My kids are 17 (boy) and 9 (girl).

woodlands now tailgates
I think The Woodlands broke the no tailgating mold yesterday...
Market Street was friutcake city, live band, Tommy Bahama's was packed too. There was a party bus parked in front of the Pavilion, and there was tailgating spread out all over!!!
Local Goose's Acre pub on the riverwalk had a nice buffettesque band playing and it was busy there.
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
