something to think about!!!
Someone sent this to me...thought i'd share!!
What is a BILLION??
This is too true to be funny
The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago the Apostle Paul was spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
C. A billion hours ago God had not yet created the heavens and the earth.
E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

And then think about 3 Trillion or 3 Thousand Billion to pay for the War in Iraq. And it has not been paid for - the cost will be passed on to our children and grand children.jonesbeach10 wrote:And then think about 9 trillion, or 9 thousand billions, and you get the amount of money the US is in debt.

So, what you're not saying is that Bush came into office with a BIG budget suplus and has turned it into RECORD deficit spending .. and the Democrats are the tax and spend party.??. ANYBODY with the balls to tell me I don't pay enough taxes or I need to shell out more of MY money for THEIR rug-rats/crumb-crunchers! If they can't afford to have them, they should maybe be a bit more cautious next time they have the urge to do the horizontal happy dance with the first whore or idiot with a pen|s who comes along.rumdrinks wrote:So, what you're not saying is that Bush came into office with a BIG budget suplus and has turned it into RECORD deficit spending .. and the Democrats are the tax and spend party.??. There was also this thing called 9/11 that happened. Also, the republicans had been slowly losing control over congress... when we had the majority our fiscal responsibility was better. When we don't have the majority we end up tacking on millions of dollars of democrat earmarks to our bills to get them passed .
Last time I check the new democrat controlled has not done one thing the promised to do. They have a lower approval rate than president bush and hillary clinton and barak obama have wasted millions of dollars in earmarks and pet projects, compared to McCain who has none. LITERALLY MCCAIN HAS ZERO WASTED TAX DOLLARS in ridiculous rider amedments and earmarks.

I've been really good at staying away from politically charged threads, if for no other reason than knowing that they rarely stay civil, but what has been posted here already makes me feel ready for the abuse, so here goes.
Garry, you posted they should maybe be a bit more cautious next time they have the urge to do the horizontal happy dance with the first whore or idiot with a pen|s who comes along. rumdrinks said "oohh, you have no opinion on this." Garry, your reply was "Not on this, but on that." which sounds to me like you are less concerned with what has been accomplished politically as much as you are with who's been playing "hide the salami."
Seminolegirl, you say that John McCain, to quote you They have a lower approval rate than president bush and hillary clinton and barak obama have wasted millions of dollars in earmarks and pet projects, compared to McCain who has none. LITERALLY MCCAIN HAS ZERO WASTED TAX DOLLARS in ridiculous rider amedments and earmarks. John McCain may have zero dollars in ridiculous amendments and earmarks, and that's great, but I'm willing to bet Ted Stevens more than makes up for it, with his bridges to nowhere.
I fired the first couple of salvos. i expect return fire, and I look forward to a healthy, considerate debate.

Come on, man. You can't be serious. If they are politicians, regardless of their party name, they are all sh**ball, motherf***rs. That list of names should be a mile long including everyone in Washington, including our current administration. What you did was silly Fox News BS. That is what is wrong with us now, we should drop the party names and vote for people.Wino you know wrote:ANYBODY with the balls to tell me I don't pay enough taxes or I need to shell out more of MY money for THEIR rug-rats/crumb-crunchers! Perhaps there are people like hillary clinton with over 200 million in earmarks for new york that make up for it as well.
I am saying as a national candidate running for president McCain is the the only one who has zero wasted money in government spending.
McCain is not a traditional republican in a lot of aspects. But as a card carrying republican (who if could vote would have for him in 2000 as well) I think that's great. He is a true leader. Even Joe Biden in an interview last week came out and said. Whatever john says is what he does. he makes a deal or says this is the deal and it's the deal. I am paraphrasing slightly and will hope to edit this with the actual quote or a youtube link.
The democratic race is fascinating and almost makes people forget they have a choice about electing a tax reducing, fiscial conservative. Many in my party have spoken against McCain because he voted against the bush tax cuts because they didn't require spending cuts. That is republicanism at its core. It's not that he didn't agree in the cuts, it's just the way they were going about that.
A man who sticks to his principals time and again. Who makes the tough choices. It's a lovely contrast to a man who can't even answer a few tough questions in a debate, whines about it afterwards just days after condsending remarks made about the middle class he is so wishing to "change" everything for.
(I did inject my McCainiac spin on this topic, but I still felt it was with in the rhelm. McCain has not been discussed as much in our culture because of the focus on the dems. Which is good and bad. Good because it buys time. Bad because people forget. Good because the dem race is so historic. Bad because it makes McCain look like he can't keep up. I might/will interject these ideas over the next couple of months... but I am respectful and welcoming always of opposition or questions)
