Also, I see footage from a lot of the other years on YouTube and people have coolers? Are coolers allowed?YES, small coolers. Checked for glass and alcohol at the entry
Is it wise to get there right when the doors open??YES, unless you want to chill out way in the back, which is also cool

Who did you see?

I listened to Steve Earle and Allison Moorer live and a bit of Cowboy Junkies recorded and She and HIM live, and then all the power went dead and the T1 line was down.

the thunderstorms here knocked out part of the power grid in Newport. It was WILD...... :o :o :o

(not the smartest weather to be out in, but not much choice.....)

Steve Earle was GREAT!

The Marleys were great!!!

That sounds like a plan. I am driving down by myself and meeting up with people. How easy it it to find the watershuttle?

Yes, checking out the different stages. Not far apart at all.

High, as you can imagine. But you can get hot dogs and burgers for $4.00, so not totally stupid. The line for the bar was about 150 YARDS long.... I passed.... :o

Easy, it's on America's Cup Ave near Bowens Wharf. Big sign. Or ask anyone in town; they'll know

Any other tips or pointers???
This is my first time at the Folk Festival....
I got there later today, but that was planned, and I never tried to get near the stage. You gotta be early if you want near the stage at all.

Prepare for rain: there's no shelter. ZIP LOCS for the electronics. I was totally soaked, like I'd literally been swimming.

Thanks Jen,
Had a feeling it was near there. Would have hated to have parked near there and find out it was quite a bit away. Hopefully it will be easy enough to meet up with my friends once inside.

I will be sure to look for you :D , but something tells me I won't have to look too hard for you as they will probably be close by you.

Listened to that exact same stuff today too!

But then I went out to mow the grass before the rains came. Guess I didn't miss anything...

Thanks for the info Jen, sounds like y'all will be needing your flip flip boots tomorrow!
