Wouldn't work at my job. There are times, like right now, when we're not busy at all and if I disappeared for a few hours nobody would notice. There are other times, like when we're in the discovery phase of litigation or preparing for trial, when it isn't unusual to go 7 days a week for several weeks. I've worked as many as 60 days in a row.

we have been on the 9/80 schedule for the last 10 years where I work.
Employees love it.
Upper management likes it because it helps employee retention.
A person is less likely to leave when it means giving up 26 three day weekends a year.

When I worked at the dialysis clinic we worked 4 - 10 hours shifts.......it freaking ROCKED!!!! I was lost when I went for that to a 9-5 / 5 day a week job.
The only thing about it, my boss didn't like me because I wouldn't let her little A$$ kissing charge nurse yell and cuss at me in front of co-workers and patients so she never gave me two days in a row off.....I worked Monday - Wednesday - Friday - Saturday.

well, im not in the true workforce yet being a lowly college student, but in a slightly different approach there are schools around montana and the country who are doing this. schools go longer per day, and end up having friday off. i think this is a wonderful concept, however it is met with opposition mainly by parents due to them having to find child care on the extra day off. unfortunately it seems as though my career doubles as a babysitter as well

I work at home and try to do a "light" Monday and Friday, then work all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Working at home is great on the gas savings, but I do travel 600 miles almost every week going between Kansas and Wisconsin. Glad I work at home though so that is possible!

I'd like to do 9 hour days with a half day on Friday. My boss is pretty cool with that sort of thing but we'll have to see. This wouldn't save a lot of gas, but it would save time in terms of commute.
and that feeling of leaving early on Friday is just the best!

I have been working flex time ever since I was 15 and dont do too many 4 day weeks.
Average about one every three or four weeks.
I work longer hours on the other days to make up extra time and we choose whatever day we want a week or so in advance - no set day off - I like it this way!!
I got monday off this coming week
